And uncoil your extension cable fully before you use it. Ok, a battery charger isn't going to have that much draw but it's a good habit to get into.

My uncle nearly burned his house down using an electric drill attached to a rolled up extension cable. The cable acts like a coil, and can get so hot it catches fire (my uncles one did, luckily he had a fire extinguisher handy). You should uncoil it all before use, even if it sits in a pile on the floor.
