Anyone here play pro evo games on ps2?

One of my housemates just got it to replace Pro Evo 6.

Any killer teams/formations to know about,

I dont even particularly like the game, its just really the only game i dont consistantly win, so im always wanting to get better, for bragging rights if nothing else.

Any PES Players here?

Its 3 am i cant sleep so might as well post , My formation was 4-3- 1-2 with arsenal or 442.

Tbh though your formation needs to depend on your opponents choice a bit as well. If they choose 4-4-2 then you can do the same and press hard forward down the wing crosses or quick direct passes to de-stable the defense.

Tactic One: Passing

Now, it all starts off with having fast wingers whilst running forward hit R2 and push diagonally up and left you play the ball in front of you and then run towards it. This gives u the extra yard advantage. This can also be used to overlap players if you are running towards them.

So take the ball forward quick pass to the froward guy ( if ur on the 4-4-3 formation) and then wait until someone makes a run into the box and pass and shoot, simple.

Tactic Two 1 man show:

I had a friend back in the day who was soo good that he used to run and score almost every single time he shot outside the box. The trick is when your about 30 meters from goal (running towards the outside box. Imagine where the goal post is, its about 5 meters inside the main outside box. So you are basically are running in line with the outside post and just shoot when your just outside the box, the power bar should be 55 - 60 %. If done correctly Top Corner. Thank You and Goodnight, you have just scored a gem.

The Mind Games:

Now, this game is about the chatting sh#t all the way through, if you score a goal, make some noise! make sure you do the extra slow replay showing how sweet the ball hits the top corner. Break down your opponent mentally.

You cant just put a 4-4-2 and expect to win the game, you must practice, practice practice, I used to spend hours in training mode taking free kicks. You need to master the free kicks if you don't YOU WILL NEVER BE GOOD. I win most of my games on free kicks if my opponent defends well against me.

My friend, whos game it is, scores a variation of that passing goal all the time, if he can, he will run into a crossing position then run directly towards to goalie, pass at the last min and score more often than not...

I prefer more of the 1 man show stuff

Oh and the mind games are why im posting here lol... So much smack is talked in this house, and usually im good enough at whatever games we play to not be on the sharp end all the time, but PES 2008 is killing me lol. Ile put some of that to use...

The problem is, if i try to go downstairs to use the PS2, one of my housemates will appear out of the ether and want to play also, so practice doesent last very long

For the first time since 1996 I bought a Fifa game. For the past few years had been addicted to Pro Evo, but I was getting sick and tired of the fact that they didn't have licences for many English clubs.

Added to the fact that I tried Pro Evo 2008 and it just sucked majorly compared to older versions.

So this year I got Fifa 08 and I love it. Plus Andy Gray commenting makes me excited, love it.

Used to play it a lot with mates, used to think i shit hot until i went online, they did stuff i didn't even know about.
Reason why Pro Evo was great was because of the satisfaction you got from scoring.

Best goal was crossbar & in from just past the halfway line with Owen.
