I've sent a PM to people that are interested.
If anyone does want to come or is interested and hasn't got a pm from me, give me a shout.
If people could reply to the PMs if they haven't allready, so that I can get some ideas of who's going to be coming etc.

Bendy mentioned that she wouldn't mind just going back when we leave Pavlov's. If she does want to, I'll pass her my keys, so if anyone else doesn't want to go on to where ever we are going, you're also welcome to go and die at ours (providing you don't make too much noise.... you obviously need to stay out longer if you 're gonna make lots of noise Smile ).

They don't drink like we do up north Dean, they class 3 different places as a lot in one night!

Hell If I haven't been in 10+ in one night on a night out up home somethings gone wrong!

However since we'll be doing it "southern style" Rolling Eyes I'll have to say walkabout though I would prefer a real club and a load of different places. Very Happy

We /could/ do a lot of places.

It's just that most places will be either charging for entry or at least asking for donations.

If you're only staying in each pub for a drink or two that adds up quite a bit per pint. Also most of the pubs in Reading are fairly expensive, while Pavlov's is pretty cheap.

Oh, that and we're boring and have found the pubs we like... heh, we're only considering going somewhere even slightly clubby 'cos it's New Years.
Usually it's Pavlov's > Turtle Everyweekend Smile (though the Turtle is one of the few places that don't charge for entry and stay open 'till 2pm on normal nights.)

I see that some of you are not convinced by my powerful argument. Please look at the following image while chanting "I want to go to The Purple Turtle on new years eve".

I'm with you, methinks we are destined to loose though. Confused

In the end, where we spend NY's doesn't really matter, it's the people we spend it with that counts. Karma

Reading that ^ back, I can't really believe I typed it, how cheesy. Sick Embarassed

Basically, I'll just wander where ever everyone else does, until I've spent the £10 I've got for the evening, then I'll bugger off home. I think the chances are I'll run out of money before having to make a decision of any kind. Confused

So assuming someone pays for your bus fare, you'll pay £10 entry to Walkabout and then go home. Laughing Fight for the Turtle. Wink

Are you offering to pay my bus fair Danny? Awfully good of you old chap. Mr. Green Karma Wink

I reckon I'll get into town with £8, I'll then buy three drink at Pavlovs, maybe blag a couple more from drunk people and then go home. Or I could come and sit outside the walkabout for a few hours, which is what I normally do when I go there, even if I have payed for entry. Rolling Eyes

To be honest I don't really mind, I recon we should just stumble where ever our drunk feet take us. I like the turtle, but then I do go there every week anyway.

Some info on the venues:

Walkabout: Current user rating: 5.2/10

Quote:
A garage forecourt thinly disguised as an Aussie bar. If you like drinking weak overpriced beer in multi-storey car parks then this is the place for you.

The Purple Turtle: Current user rating: 6.8/10

Quote:
This is by far the best place to drink in Reading. Cheap liquor and no attitude (unlike the Friar Street pubs of evil)

I'd love to come, if it weren't for that waste of land in between us and Manchester. Only other thing is my mate is hoping to go out with me.

Richard and I just might be coming along after all as he hasn't bought tickets for that crap club in Camden (thank you god please I don't want to go there).

And as for my vote, it'll have to be Purple Turtle. Last time I went to Walkabout I had some dude trying to chat me up whilst telling me he wished I was a vampire so that I could suck his blood. He also kept asking Luke if he was my boyfriend.
