touring europe

ok had an idea of touring europe on bikes in the summer when ive got a bigger bike, however my mate who is coming with will only have a 125 and is on learner plates, question is can he ride in other countries on L's? If all fails guess i'll have to chuck him on the back

Also anyone else ever done this? we were thinking staying in tents like proper campers

Anyone know of any good routes?? places to go, roads to ride etc??

Probably best check the touring forums with search.

You thought about the limits of riding a 125? in terms of low number of mileage you can cover and that comfortable motorway speed = all out on most 125's with nothing left in it. The two strokes might complode over so many varied miles (and problems of climate etc may adversley affect them if its roasting hot or freezing cold etc). Dunno just my thoughts.

No idea on the law, but if you on bigger bike and he's not you might get bored/held back as to what you can see and where you can go.

yep exactly the same questions we had to consider..may have to take him as pillion and take turns between me and one other person whos also coming on a bigger bike. I'll do a search on the other forums cheers

you need a full license to drive/ride your vehicle abroad.

You must have a full UK driving license to drive abroad.

In terms of good places to go, strat with France, avoid the Peage and enjoy! The best road I've ridden in Europe was the Simplon Pass, from Switzerland into Italy. One word - Awesome!
