Anyone who says you dont need to drink to have a good time is lying. If no one is drinking its fine but when everyone else is and Im the only one thats sober (cos I dont drink) they suck ass!! I feel like I dont fit in and end up having a shit time.

Anyone else find this? or is it just me.

Cheers.

I went to a party last night and didnt drink because i was driving, didnt make a difference though still had a great time. Theres a few times ive been out and not drank because ive not been in the mood, theres been times where ive got absolutely plastered and woke up in random places. Wouldnt say the alcohol fueled nights were more or less fun. The nights what you make of it, if you go out thinking its gonna be shit because your not drinking then you've already set the tone for the night.

Everyones different i suppose though.

I had a drink at the bells last night then that was it cos I was driving this morning. It didn't spoil my night though, had a great time in George Sq dancing away to Suspiciously Elvis and watching all the really drunk people fall about Very Happy

I find its a hit & a miss if I'm not drinking and everyone else is, but then I get hit & a miss nights when I'm pissed too, just depends on the company Thumbs Up

Its shit when everyone else is totally wrecked (and I mean so they can't even stand up). Then you get really bored and the stuff they do and find funny, you just think is stupid.

Its ok when you are with other people who are drunk, but still able to talk normally, rather than just repeat the same crap all the time Laughing

Its the same for me as i dont drink. I avoid parties like the plague so that solves that problem. And listening to my neighbours drink fueled mass jerry springer style in the street brawl/argument/party last night im quite glad that i dont lmfao.

Yeah tell me about it I had the flu on xmas day and sat drinking lemsip watching people getting pissed and it was miserable. If your the only one not drinking it is alienating as your not on the same wavelength of cheer.

Party's are hit and miss for me, Generally a miss though.

Was drinking last night but wasnt really in the mood (Last time i drank on christmas day and the smell of vomit is conjured up with the smell of alchohol) and last night i wasnt getting into the swing of it at all (I get quite ratty/down when i'm like that) so think i might be giving it a miss at the next party.

On the other hand, I have great fun when i'm drinking on my own! (And i was so fucking close to going home with a milf last night, Then all the drunken idiots came out and she went all shy! Evil or Very Mad )

I have been to a few parties where people have been sober and I haven't and they are all fine. I just have a good time, thing is if you act slightly drunk its all good fun as they can't tell the difference!

well very rarely I may have a few, i go to lots of parties, the trick is to tune into everyone else, apparently i can act like a twat when im sober so i still enjoy myself, i cant help thinking its a sad thing if you need to be drunk to have fun Confused

i get fed up of people who think its not normal to not drink socially, i dont particularly like the taste of most alcohol. I still get people assuming im not drinking cos ive had a drink problem in the past or they assume i must be on medication, while some of my friends drink to excess and are on their way to serious liver problems, they can say im boring all they want, at least i have a healthy liver and dont do things i regret the next day.

The advantage of being sober at a party where everyone is shitfaced is very simple to explain:
1, You don't wake up next to some fucking howler the next morning..
because:
2, Being sober, you had the pick of drunk chicks, so grabbed the best looking one there.

It never fails Wink

Some1 buy this dude a beer.

So i can steal his idea and sell it worldwide.

Your onto something here lol.

On another note.
Watching everybody gradually get hammered and do stupid things isn't really that funny.
To be fair i want to be able to get completely shitfaced, without HAVING to drink.

Tips?

If ever there was a moment that proved that BCF has gone down the shitter this is it.

Rather than have people indulging in a party at each others houses we have people complaining that they're social outcasts who don't know how to have fun. If you don't have fun at a party you have nobody to blame but yourself for standing back and letting yourself become bored.

I don't drink and I go to parties. I usually find it becomes difficult when people become too drunk to hold a conversation with, but thats when you move from chatting to the blokes to chatting to the ladies. Either that, or you are with someone (either a mate or a lady) who you can chat to and have a laugh with if they are sober OR drunk.

So what I'm saying is, its only stuff like work parties where you don't really feel like you know anyone and you are only there to put in an appearance, where it is a problem.

Of course, unless its one of Shaun's parties where you have to be drunk so you don't notice the fireworks being shoved in various bodily orifices (yours and other peoples...).

I always go to the works gatherings just to put in an appearance but I still have a good time, I don't know the people that well so I'll use it as an oppurtunity to get to know them a bit. You don't have to know someone properly to enjoy their company, you just have to be willing to approach them and chat.

I hardly ever drink anything when I go out, for several reasons.
1. It's expensive
2. I drive
3. I love being drunk...for 20 minutes. Then I want it to go away and it doesn't.

It's perfectly fine to go to parties etc sober, but as said, it sucks when you're clear in the head and everyone is pissed out their brains and can't even be normal. You just get sick of them. That's another reason I don't drink. I've realised how pathetic it really is.
I don't take any drugs either...
I've tried Marijuana, Coke and Crack a few times, but I decided not to do anything hard ever again, and after a really bad trip with weed a year ago I'm on a no drug policy even though I'm often encouraged to smoke a slip or whatever I just say no.
I've gone to raves without drinking a single drip of alcohol, and not a single drug, and people are fascinated. They ask me HOW can I have fun?
Since when is it necessary to drink/ do drugs to have fun?
It should be an enhancement if ANYTHING.
I find it so ridiculous when people down half a bottle of vodka before entering a place to be drunk when they get there. Get a life and learn to enjoy what's free for fucks sake

I really agree with you, I don't understand drinking. But I still do it a lot.

I go out, I either drink a lot before I go or I drink a lot when I'm there, one way or another it does cost a fair bit. I have fun usually, not all the time sometimes I just feel depressed after a few.

I act like a tit, sometimes I don't even remember what happened.. I wake up in the morning with an empty wallet and a hang over, but I still do it.

Hell I'm going out on wednesday and thursday and possibly friday this week, I have no money at all.. but I'm still gonna do it, and probably regret it..

I miss house parties, we hardly seem to have them at uni compared to at home, house parties are always a lot more fun than stuck in some smelly club stuck to the floor in spilt booze and god knows what..

I don't go out to get plastered anymore, go out to have a few and that's about it.

Hangovers suck.

I'd rather be spending money on the bike than pissing it away on booze, took me until last year to relise how much I was spending on alcohol, so now I have more money to spend on trackdays and that can only be a good thing.

Feel healthier too. Thumbs Up

It's just you - you don't fit in. I'd suggest avoiding such parties in future.

While the above comment seems a little harsh, I agree. If you go to a party where the main theme is to drink heavily, and you don't drink, there is no point in going and then complaining if you don't like it.

Hints might be to ask partygoers how much drink they are taking. If its more than a crate between 2/3 then you know everyone is going to be fucked. Smile

Crate between 2 or 3?

What you on about, it's always one crate per person!
