Surprised nobody has posted this yet, but it appears that Suzuki have predictably come up with their own CBR/YZF-R125 rival:

Why's everyone so against 4 stroke 125's?

They're great fun, I miss mine now I realise if went through the gears like I did on my 125 I'd be doing about 140 in a very short amount of time...

I'd probably buy it if it came out and was 2 stroke. If not ill stick with an rs125.

There is a certain feeling and performance every GSXR should hand out.
All the latest GSXR models provide this.

This GSXR 125 will be amusing, at most.

Does look tasty, but I wouldn't go back to a 125.

It won't be a 2t, there too dirty for our enviromentally friendly roads now. The 2t is slowly getting killed off by the EU.

If that is a 2t I would seriously consider it for a commuter/hack

Yup I have, found it quite comfortable. My girlfriend particularly likes it, think she plans on trading in her RS125 (if I can ever get the damn thing running under its own power) for one when they come out.

God yeah that surprised me when I sat on one at the NEC bike show, I was on my tip-toes!

I'd still have one if I had the cash to blow when it came out, though I'll reserve my judgement until I see the Suzuki in the flesh too.

I prefer the looks of the Yamaha R-125 but it's nice to see that the Japanese and not-so Japanese manufacturers are getting more involved in the Sports 125 sector (I'm assuming this is because of the stupidly successful CBR 125). The Megelli 125 looks nice too though, it's like a baby Desmo:

It totally sucks that none of these bikes are 2-stroke and are released just as I move onto bigger bikes though... Rolling Eyes Ah well, performance wise, my Aprilia RS125 would eat them for breakfast! Laughing

I can actually say I have & my god was it slow Laughing , I'd pick pick my RS125 over a 'CGR125' anyday, as you wouldn't really hear much of the 'lawn-mowing' for long on a straight or the twisties if you had a CBR to race it with.... Cool

Having such clearly different taste, how did we both end up with the same 400? Laughing

P.S your Nc29 is lush! Shocked where did you get the ART can from?

I have never ridden a 125 passed my test too many years ago to remember did have a 250 to pas my test on

My son has just bought a YBR 125

Art was already on when I bought it, think they're hard to find now as Art went bust.

125 - I was actually after a CG, even looked at an NSR - the CBR was just there for the right money at the right time!! Laughing

I have to say I am really liking the look of this.
All these new bikes being 4 strokes wouldn't be too bad if they were made with 20-25hp then restricted like the 2 strokes are.

The problem with pushing 25bhp out of a little 4 stroke 125 is reliability, it becomes a real issue when your building to a budget.

One reason things like the CG last forever is that the engine isnt tuned like a sports bike so it isnt revved the nuts out of all day.

Out of intrest did anyone ever make an inline 4 125?

You do know that people on L plates are restricted to 14.6BHP? Wink And derestricted sports two strokes are usually invalid for A2 license holders?
