After watching something on tv about better driving it gave a website promoted to it where people basically go around recording/making reports on peoples bad driving for a laugh i though i would give it a quick check out.

www.betterdrivingplease.com

To give an idea of just some of the reports

This is signaled RED for danger of the highest nature

In the early morning drizzle on a dual carriageway I saw in the distance the hurried brake lights of 4 or 5 cars. A few moments later I passed the hazard. A little motorbike was travelling at approximately 30mph in a national speed limit zone.

Another RED for danger

Motorbike trying dangerously squeezing between lanes in section of motorway undergoing roadworks with reduced speed and lane widths - lots of weaving and moving into other vehicles stopping space. Carrying Mercury Couriers bag.

How about an orange

We followed a motorbike for approx.4 m miles without lights in the dark. We have video evidence

And another red alert

This motorbike rider exited the roundabout so fast and low, his knee virtually scraped the ground! I think it shook him as he slowed down for a while... then he overtook my car at excessive speed before immediately leaving at the Wellingborough junction. He was very lucky not to have come off his bike.

I found all these by typing motorbike into the search function they have number plates on there so see if your one the people who have been caught riding dangerously !

Its a nice idea taken with a pinch of salt imho, I'd certainly be interested in knowing if I did anything stupid if to at least learn from it.

Seems like a ton of pedantry going on there though, reporting 'overly' tinted side windows and spaces in numberplates just strikes me as a waste of time, bandwidth and cpu Confused

Seems like it'd be a nice way to thank people for safely moving aside or letting you out when your unable to wave back though, if only I could actually remember a plate for that long Smile

Personal pet hate of mine. I had a near miss with a Corsa the other day who couldn't see out of his windows, tonight the missus got hit by a reversing car (thankfully no damage) with bling-bling limo tints - he admitted it was his fault as he couldn't properly see out of his rear windows.

Well to be fair, the road traffic act 1999 does state that motorcyclists who touch their knee down against tarmac on or in the immediate vicinity of a roundabout are to be 'reclassified' as dangerous plebs.

Thumbs Up

I think these people are very dangerous. they have had no training on giving verbal evidence while driving and of monitoring other road users. this makes them a danger on the road. you will find that they also give a simple every day driving action a different spin with their comments. Think of the film Nightmare on Elme street to the tune of the Archers and it is a comedy, but then put Benny Hill to some sick scream music and it becomes a horror flick.
It is all in the spin. Yes there will be some very bad driving but I bet if you followed these people they will be just as bad. But if you do challenge them you are just a mindless moron who shouldn't be on the road.

This motorcylist gives bikers a bad name. Just becuase he has the acceleration to get away quick from the lights doesnt mean he should drive like an idiot!

Does anyone seriously think this website is anything other than a place for sad old men to fill up there time. Some of them are so silly.

It's full of doddery old judgmental interfering wankers who have nothing better to do with their time than to sit and wait for the cold fingers of death while they bitch about things that don't concern them.

Has had a few visordown invasions.

i think as long as the majority post sensible notifications of geniunly dangerous driving, it might work, however, the more pointless and petty posts that are made, the less serious it'll be taken, to the point it will become ignored.

I think it is worthwhile signing up and commenting on appropriate posts, pointing out where their claim of dangerous driving is erroneous.

You know...

I clicked on the link there, read a couple of 'reports' and had to close it down.

That level of pedantry and jobsworthyness really pisses me off. Who died and made these people guardians of good sense and righteousness? Rolling Eyes

I'm a pretty sensible rider mostly, but if there was a way to identify these condescending gits in their cars; I would deliberately do something stupid just to annoy them.

Grrr.

*Edit: Someone should register and submit a report about some old fart in a flat cap trying to take notes about other road users whilst travelling at speed.*

Speeding and reckless behaviour

Type of Vehicle
Motorbike

Colour of Vehicle
Restricted Information
Motorbike joined behind me from A404(M) junc 8/9. Noticed in rear view mirror that bike was speeding (30mph zone with bike rapidly gaining to my vehicle). Also did a wheelie for about 50 yards before approaching roundabout. Bike followed me onto residential road with speed calming (20mph/humps). About 100 yards into road, I indicated right to pull into driveway. Driver of bike tried to overtake on outside as I was preparing to turn but luckily was prevented by oncoming traffic. Once I pulled to other side of the road, I continued to watch the bike wheelie and swerve in and out of the speed humps, on the wrong side of the road into the path of oncoming traffic. **All images posted have been captured using a camera mounted to the windscreen of my vehicle, with an automated device that allows continuous and uninterrupted recording whilst on the move.**

This guy is pissed because he went ROUND speed bumps.

+ a 50 yard wheelie?

Give the fella break.

A youth continually driving around village roads with defective silencer from 1600 hours.

When the scooter left the area the noise could be heard for some minutes as it got about a mile distant. The lad wore a crash helmet and did not show any L-plate.

Could of been worse.

Least it wasn't an TL1000 with no pipes lol.

I've just searched for my home town. I see there's a local nonce who has the Hitler gene and would like to report people for 'slowing down for a speed camera then accelerating again'....

I've also just emailed them and told them that if any of the vehicles I own are mentioned on the site, I'll complain to their hosts, as it's personal information. If someone knows where I am, regularly, and publishes it, then a thief would know I'm not in my house.

I'd love to meet the gawky little old weasel I saw on telly a couple days back. I'd love to go on a drive with him. He could drive, no problem. And I'd narrate. We'll see what qualifications he's got and just why he thinks he needs to tell the world what's what.

I know I posted a while back whining about people not using roundabouts properly, and who could I voice my opinion to (hoping the DRIVING STANDARDS AGENCY might actually live up to their name) and I imagine a lot of people chuckled at me in the same way I'm laughing at this plum. But this bloke's a class 'A' spacktard.

The worrying thing to me is the use of constantly recording cameras - this is something I've thought about in the past and scares me a bit.

I can see twenty years down the line every vehicle having it's own set of cameras for insurance purposes, etc.
Of course it's no big step to these being networked together and the authorities having access any time they pleased. Even without that, anyway that goes past a Sunday-driver who doesn't like you doing 5mph over the limit will probably see an automated-NIP arriving through the post when they report you.
