Going to look at this NSR125RR tomorrow with the intention of buying it but only just noticed that the air intake hoses (?) on both sides are missing. What could be the side effects of not having these (water getting in?) and is there anywhere I could get some from as I've hunting around on the internet and couldn't find any.

Cheers in advance for your help Smile

As you may know, the hoses don't really 'do' anything - the airbox isn't directly connected to them.

I doubt you'd suffer any significant problems without them.

Cheers Smile

Anything in particular to look out for when inspecting a 2 stroke? It's done 7000 miles and is unrestricted. Only used to riding 4 strokes.

make sure it starts from cold AND warm, trust me, i've had hell on with my NSR and it's general inability to start from cold, then often it won't start again once it's ran for 5 mins until its cold! Shocked

Worth talking to the owner and ask 'does it need to be warmed up', or similar to see what they says.
You don't need to leave the bike idling for ages, but the bike should be ridden gently before it's warmed up. It will suffer more than a 4 stroke if it's not.

Nah you'll be alright those things are pretty much aesthetic only, they do force air into the engine area, but it doesn't connect to anything so any impact it does have will be very minor.

I've run mine without them with no worries.

I've only just noticed it's missing an inspection panel, any idea why these parts would be missing? He is wanting 1190 for it, should be able to knock some off the price for it. Any idea where I can get replacement parts as i've had a look on ebay with no success.

you can get just about any part you need here

www.davidsilverspares.co.uk

you will need to tell them your colour code which should be on a sticker on the frame under your seat eg. r-127 which is mine. Thumbs Up
