How would you describe your riding?

Be honest!

I would describe mine as being quite slow and careful.

I stick to speed limits most of the time, also I find that I tend to be quite courteous and let people merge from junctions etc when it is safe to do so.

If I get someone driving like a nob near me then I back off and let them piss off, rather than going mad at them.

On the other hand, my filtering is not as good as what it should be. Ever since I hit a couple of wing mirrors a while back (when I was much more confident with filtering) I tend not to filter into the tighter gaps as I fear I may knock someones wing mirror again, even though I see other bikers going for it. If there is not much traffic and it is flowing then I don't really bother filtering, I just go with the flow, unless it is proper jam packed sort of traffic.

If I am on a NSL road and it is clear, then I may give it some and not be as strict with the bike as I am when I am in 30's (inner city).

I'm only 22, yet I ride like an old man (most of the time)! Although there are some times I do go for a proper blast, just to get the cob webs out of my hair! Hehe.

i rode like ghost rider, inbetween cars at 120mph sort of shit with inches to spare, after i got hit by a car near my work ive calmed down abit, id now describe my riding as fast, nut case area but highly aware of all hazards

I plan ahead, so not much unexpected happens. I regulary use the shitty roads with mud all over at usual speeds to keep my skill level up. This will probably change when I get the CBR though.

Cautious when filtering/riding in London, I've been hit twice and had a couple of near misses, don't really need to be filling out any more accident report forms for insurance companies.
As soon as I'm on roads with less traffic , I'm the same as most, an NSL road does stand for No Speed Limit?

As fast as i feel comfortable with, tend to ride a bit safer on the roads nowdays than when i had a 400, its not worth it i just save it for track.

I mostly ride very sensibly, using speed and observation appropriately. I am pretty good at anticipating the actions of other road users, and often practice advanced riding techniques such as using vanishing points and such.

The rest of the time I ride very fast indeed, accelerating as fast as I can get away with, and braking as hard as I dare.

Fast, but with consideration in built up areas and always watching out for cars pulling out etc. I tend to have a 'sick head' mode when i get onto a road I find I like. KD's if its poss but usually only when im showing off to mates I'd say I'm a little too competative too

Used to be very confident, As in confident in myself for corners, The bike and road conditions.

After the crash i've become rather unconfident in the above, Not had the weather to go for a long pleasure ride (Just been riding to get places, Hate doing just that) and i'm just not confident on the DR and i'm very wary of road conditions.

Been doing a lot of filtering though, Would say i'm pretty good with that.

I'm sure i'll be a changed rider when it comes to riding the GSXR (Lots of engine braking and decent brakes upfront) and i'll actualy have faith in the bike

I'm religous about my observance of 30, 40 & 50 limits on the road, but view the NS sign as my ticket to 'make good progress, appropriate to conditions'.
On track, i'm in the lower half of the intermediate group.

I've always viewed my riding in the same fashion as a proponent of Kyudo (Japanese 'Zen' archery) - it is not the hitting of the target that is important, rather the sensation of stillness and calm at the release of the arrow. To relate that to riding, outright speed is not my target, rather the sensation felt during and after a perfectly planned and executed piece of riding skill(which may or may not involve holding the throttle open till the valves start to bounce ) Like Ueshiba (the founder of Aikido) i view myself as the calm at the centre of a malestrom - my gixer buzzes, screams and howls beneath me, the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering wrack my body, but i remain the centre of calm control, removed from it all. Or something.

Zen biking - it's the future.

Very safe, steady and confident with a pillion. I can say that having somebody on the back makes you more open and aware of hazards and the fact that there's a greater burden of responsibility on your shoulders. Might do an IAM or Rospa course to see how well i ride on the road yet still keep a quick pace around the roads. Prior to that I was often highly inappropriate and banzai when in a group - it's because i often volunteer as tail end charlie cos the 125 lads and lasses that ride out often don't know where to go, and eventually it becomes so boring and unbearable that i do silly fast overtakes, often overtaking 4-5 bikes in the process to get up there with the faster lads. On my 250, i could say i was fast and often reckless - had to do a lot to keep up with the 600 boys.

Once, whilst riding in the wet, i went AROUND the outside of a few mates on their SVthou and XJ600 whilst i was on my ZXR250 on a BLIND bend! It became a bit of a "signature manoever" with me.

It usually hoon along the melton road or the hathern colloerton route whilst i was in loughborough and friends often used to see me just overtaking cars and duffing the final car just before or ON the bend! I was lucky to say the least that i didn't have any serious accidents. It was a common sight seeing ZXR250 pulling beside car, dropping 3 gears, caining it, still in the opposite lane into the bends!

Now, i have a greater appreciation for life on my 600 so i ride appropriate to conditions which often means that i'm slower on the 6 than i am on my 250. Makes me pussay out a bit, which is why when i'm riding out with people like binge or few others from the bike club - they feel somewhat dismayed that i don't appear to be having a good time attacking the bends.


I think as some of you on the mayday '05 might remember almost getting taken out by a guy on a 125 whilst filtering quickly through the sportsbikes and harleys?

Yet to get on the track, but gonna give it a go in the novice group.

I ride at the speed limit in built up areas, out on the NSL's i may do a ton but rarely over that. 80mph is a good speed for me.

Like someone said, i rarely have suprises and so far have been riding slow enough to avoid anything anyone else pulls on me!

So, a boring old 28 year old fart then!

TBH, i just love riding my bike, and i`ve always been somewhat of a wuss so i`m faster than some and slower than the loons.

My riding is OK. I'm quite cautious. Only thing is I sometimes don't feel as relaxed as I should be on the bike, and when I tense up I find it's a lot harder to ride safely and smoothly.
