At this time of year no thread is bad, its just that I don't know what Chris Rock is doing that is soooooo exciting. I'm really old so I'm expected to respond in this way.

Woo hoo. Seriously.

Not much in the way of approval but I love Everyone hates Chris.

Hope its as good as you want it to be.

Never seen a comedian live that was disappointing, I think the TV kills the essence of a good stand up guy.

He's had brilliant reviews for the first gig he did over here, he's a very talented bloke, only thing I don't like about his stand up is how much he mentions niggers and black people.

He didn't do very well with his Chris Moyles interview
Chris was SO disappointed. He was a massvie fan

I think it was a bit early for him. His 'people' were very rude too. Swearing at Aled and demanding stuff. Not good Thumbs Down

I did watch Chris R on Jonathon Ross and found him a bit funny
Not my style I don't think

Yeah I felt a bit awkward listening to the interview on the Chris Moyles show, didn't seem natural, also think Chris.M was trying too hard to be funny and trying to make himself sound like a great pal with Chris Rock, even though Chris Rock didn't really give a shit lol.

And yet, for me, that is an interesting subject - which I think he brings up well, regarding the way that there is a level of stupidity in any race.

We use the same sort of emotive descriptions with chavs, pikeys (or trailer trash) and other white people. He is just using the same sort of comparison of stupidity amongst his own race. I've even heard Asians calling stupid members of their own race "stupid fucking Paki", because it has a negative connotation, within whatever race.

Its just a shame that we (white people) can't employ it as a descriptive the way we do about chavs, etc, merely in relation to stupid behaviour. We'd still get our arses kicked from here to kingdom come by the anti-racist league, if we tried to do so, even though its okay for any of them to call stupid white people chavs or pikeys, but we're still not allowed to employ those epithets without all hell breaking loose.

I think that within the realm of his comedy, Chris Rock has actually made quite a valid social point (which we all know very well) that not all black people ARE niggers: the same way that not all white people are chavs, its only the stupid/brainless ones that need be tarred with that brush (pardon the expression).

Perhaps we could just find a term that describes idiots of any race and use it generically - maybe "Springies" - as all those types, whether white or black, seem to appear on shows run by Jerry Springer et al.

/controversial
Very Happy

Anyway ... hope you enjoy the show, Nick Thumbs Up
