Question been bouncing around my brain for a while now. As most folks i know have had an off, alot of the names i recognise regularly off here seem to have a variety of accidents from time to time.

Who amoungst us has never crashed?
and how long have they been riding?

So if you havn't, add to the poll how many years you've been riding so we can all see if in fact any of us survive very long without crashing! Since some people had a license for lots of years and only ridden a few i'd say its better to put on the number of years you've been riding for.

No need to count minor things like dropping in a car park or banging into the garage door/fence post/next doors cat etc. Real 'offs'.

Prizes for the longest surviving motorbicyclist!

I meant to tick 2-5 as I've been riding 2.5 years (30,000 miles) without any form of accident.

Your chart is useless, it should be as follows.

0-2
3-5
6-8
9-11
Ect.
You can't have more than one category with the same number. And they should all be of the same gap.

Thats like saying the gaps in a histogram should be the same.

There are more likely to be more people in the lower categories, so make them more specific (tighter range) and make the high end (20 odd years) wide range.

Alas i shall have to contact Gordon and tell him that my results are flawed and he shouldnt bother posting them to anyone Wink

As truslack says I figure in a crude way for the fact most people will have had their licenses for a shorter amount of time.

And if i (wanted to) analyse them i could indeed use a histogram or pretty much any of the statistical programs available to compensate for the different values as well as repeated ones....

A first in Data Analysis from Manchester says Middle Finger to you sir

(only kidding mate Mr. Green i know its not particularly accurate but i reckoned alot of people not had their license long enough to give them a chance to crash yet! This thread is more about the higher catergories see how many people roughly make it 5-10 or more years without crashing!)

Since getting back into biking in 2005, after a nine-year layoff, I've not come off. Before that I've lost count.

Way to tempt fate, if you believe in that kind of sh!te. Laughing

I put 5-10 because I had been riding for 8 years before I had my first off. I had two very minor spills caused by me locking the front in the wet, within a year of each other on my spare bike...

...then I fixed the brakes and not come off since. That was now nearly seven years ago. Not bad considering I ride every day in all weather.

Tricky one. My last 'accident' was 4 years ago when someone crashing into me, not me actually crashing (I stayed on the bike, the bike stayed upright, with the tail/rear wheel wedged around a Vauxhall Carlton's bonnet).

So, if that's the case, the last time I had a crash was when I was 17.
