quick one, buying mint 2nd hand lid

got a guy at work who has an arai lid that is a couple of years old which is mint as he has shown me it and its in good nick.
He wants to sell it but I or him dont know what its worth.

He bought it for £300 and dont know what toom offer him? I thought I'd have it for a spare as my commuting lid has had tough life and is a bit beaten now.

Your choice, but the first thing I was told on my CBT was never to buy a second hand lid.

I know why they say that but I trust the guy who is offering it so it should be no different than keeping a lid for the same time.

If it was from ebay then I would say no point blankly.

so any ideas on prices people.

I would offer £60. I wouldnt pay 300 in the first place, it has been sitting around for years, and 1/5 to me is a reasonable price. If he was to sell it on ebay n that he would get about the same.

I think that £60 would be a fair offer.. Ebay he may get a little more, but then he'd have to deal with the commission charges, and paypal charges. I trust that he wasn't looking for a lot more than that was he??

Secondhand lids, are really not that a marketable.. it's a bit like secondhand underwear Laughing

Check the manufacturing tag at the bottom of the lid/chinstrap. Anymore than 3 years and don't pay 100 quid for it! Remember, lids are stored in warehouses/store rooms for quite a reasonable time. The EPS layer would have moulded to the shape of his head in that time.

What model arai is it, since there are some where you can replace the liner (40 quid) to make it fresh again.
