Has anyone had any waterproof bike trousers stay waterproof for over a year?
Had my current ones for just over a year and now I seem to be getting a wet crotch, and no I dont enjoy riding that much and i dont suffer from incontinence.

If you have can you let me know what they are so I can get some quick sharp.

Cheers

Yes Dianese Gortex fabric ones, I am afraid you get what you pay for with trousers.

Water proofing doesn't last , you need to treat it now and again with nikiwax or this camping stuff which comes in huge tubs which is cheaper.

Alpinestars RJ5's. Their over trousers so quick and easy to get on and extremely waterproof. Although their not textile so they offer no protection but i guess you could put them over your existing textiles?

Clicky

Thats both the jacket and trousers, but they can be bought seperately.

I keep a pair of 100% waterproof polyurethane over trousers under my seat. They’re basically thin fabric with a rubber like coating bonded to it. I’ve had them for over 10 years and they only leak a bit at the knee where I once crashed in them. They offer no protection, but I tend to have leather or textile on underneath. I suppose because the material is quite stretchy it has never cracked or split. Super tough and highly recommended. Bought them from Motorcycle Action in Acton before they morphed into the dreadful Chiswick Honda. These days if you just google for polyurethane trousers and maybe throw in a “welded seams” for good measure you’ll quickly find something that’s cheap and very effective.

Avoid one piece suits! I used to have a one piece Frank Thomas over suit that seemed perfectly designed to funnel water that hits your chest straight down the zip line to your crotch. They did it from new. Load of rubbish!

Dutch army issue gore-tex trousers. Buy them big so they fit over your stuff. I had a pair for 7 years, still waterproof. I only got rid of them bacause they didn't fit over my leathers.

Waterproofs are for waterpoofs.

I'm going to bed now.

I wear leathers year round.

But.

I carry Regata waterproofs (Hill walking stuff), I have an over coat and over trousers, in size XXL so they go over my leathers. Cost about £40.

Best thing I have ever had on the bike, i've had all in one waterpoofs before (Hot sticky and impossible to get on), and also textiles. (Wouldn't like to crash in them).

Yes, I got some Spada winter/waterproof trousers off Ebay, brand new for £40. They haven't leaked since I got them about 4 months ago.
