Just bought my 1st bike w00. I passed my test on Friday, and saw a Suzuki Bandit 650 on a 55 plate for £2995 that I liked at my local dealership. I know it's not that cheep, but I wanted the peace of mind of buying from a dealership for my 1st bike.
It's had 1 previous owner, and has clocked around 5K miles, and is in very good condition.

Should be picking it up on Friday or Saturday, and I can't wait Very Happy

Anyways, he is some stock pictures, not that good, but you get the idea :p

I know it's usually a Love/Hate relationship people have with bandits, but there is something about them I really like hehe.

Nice bike mate. I quite like Bandits myself, great first bike.

Looks in good nick too, but the chain looks a bit slack for my liking.

Have fun with your new machine.

Passed Test Friday, bought bike Today, Thats about 4 days then Smile

I took a week to decide on mine, before I was throwing a deposit on my first big bike.

The Dealers must be rubbing their hands together when the hear the words "Just Passed my test" Smile

Looks like a nice bike though and its a very sensible choice for a first big bike. Lets just hope the weather improves so you can enjoy it Smile

even tho it was a courtasy bike i was impressed by its handling and comfort, power is abit on the weak side but wheelies are easy using the bandit

yourl enjoy it untill you want sumit a little bit quicker Wink

Urgh, just done a HPI check, and it's come back with Outstanding Finance, which is a bit annoying lol. Going to phone the dealership back tomorrow, and also the finance company. Fortunately, only put down a small deposit so far, so not too worried lol. Bit annoying like.

Really? Ouch, does that mean you have to pay it off, or are they still paying it off?

Not sure mate. They may have got it part-ex or something and not been told themselfs it had outstanding finance. I would have done the test earlier, but I was in a rush to get to work, but as I have a late start tomorrow, I'll phone up both the dealership, and also the financiers to see what the deal is. Glad I checked now though, better than a few weeks down the line lol.

I wouldn't worry about it from losing money point of view. Also I would be amazed if a dealer hadn't done an HPI so it's just probably out of date or something Thumbs Up

That's any dealer except DK motorcycles of course Police

lol. Well, they are a big BMW dealership, seem very professional, so I doubt they wouldn't have done one. Just worries me when I do my 1st ever HPI check on what I hope to be my 1st ever bike, and I see a big reg flag come up about Finance haha.

Just got of the phone with them, turns out it's them who has the finance on it. They buy them in bulk, and use them as courtesy bikes for several months, then sell them on, and once it's sold on, they pay off the outstanding finance. So it's not too worrying I guess, and I guess it means it would have been well maintained by them.. I hope lol.

Ahh excellent news! No worries now then, what do you have to get done now then? Just insure it and all that malarky?

Ignoring the above, make sure you have a double look over it, as courtesy bikes always get bummed senseless before being returned.
