I was wondering the same as craig? Lazy?
I remember stripping the front to replace head bearings, i thought it was gonna be pretty abominable but ended up not too bad. Keeping a zx6 in the air with no front end is fucking risky though! was on a brick and a block of wood
Still, the forks look really nice, albeit a little bit....painted? lol I dunno. Did you use spray I assume?
If i was gonna get mine done I think id get em powder coated at work. Might think about that soonish... ____________________ "Oh....it looks like Average Joe's is forfeiting the match!" - "Yeah, its a risky strategy but lets see if it pays off for 'em Cotton." |

I didnt need to take them off, it was better to leave them on the bike. I preped them, 2 coats of acid etch primer, 2 coats of silver paint from rs paints (original color) then 4 coats of gloss laquer. and yes i did spray them. I did them this way because its just pushing up costs stripping everything (forks) for powder coating. while i was on i did the swing arm too and side stand and pillion hangers. ____________________ Bikes CBR 125, ZZR 600, ZX636 current ZZR 1400 |

Well if its layered with decent paint it shouldnt chip easy, if you had em done by a pro they would be stronger too and powder coat is the strongest of them all. Still a great job.
Bet your well proud. ____________________ Haz ER-5, innit! |
