I just bought a pair of StreetMate water proof trousers, they come with a removable lining (which I removed.) Best bike trousers I've had. No padding in them but even with out the lining they're warm and totally waterproof.

The best thing though is they zip and velcro all the way up the sides. Two advantages to this, a) you don't need to take your shoes off to take them off and b) if ever you want to take up a career as a stripper, put them on with just the velcro attached, they'll whip off in a flash.

(I haven't tried that... No really; I haven't! Laughing )

One peice suits seem a bit ott to me, plus, I can never get one that fits. I always end up looking like a bag of tatties. My last WP trousers were rubbish, crotch was away down between my knees so when you sat down on the bike, the ankle cuffs rode up to mid-shin level. The bottom of my trousers always got soaked.

Might seem a bit daft, but if your trying stuff on, do squats in them. Might feel ok when standing up, soon as you sit down it all goes wrong...

Thumbs Up

I've got the richa 1 piece suit. Cost about £50 I think and has been totally waterproof in the 4 months I've used it.

Feels good quality, and zips at the side which I presume is to make it more waterproof (as the seams arent taking the wind/rain blast). A bit more awkward to get on than a 2 piece, but then I've always found 2 piece ones let the water in when the rain gets heavy.

My waterproofs consist of:

£15 mac from Decathlon
£25 waterproof hiking over trousers from TK Maxx 9although you can get some for much cheaper)

Do the job brilliantly, even in heavy rain...
