I need your help please as this is really p***ing me off.

Whenever I open Internet Explorer it sets my homepage to a weird search engine, which I've never ever used. I go into Tools-Internet Options and reset my homepage but the next time I reboot my machine and open Internet Explorer my homepage has changed back to the weird search engine.

What's even more annoying is that when I'm in Tools-Internet Options and click the 'Use Default' button for my homepage it claims the default homepage is also the weird search engine.

How can I remove this weird search engine from changing itself back to being my homepage. I've searched my machine for any files containing the weird search engines website address so that I could over write it and couldn't find anything.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

James

Download a spyware removal program. That should fix the problem.

Unfortunately I can't remember the names of any programs off hand. Hopefully one of my other learned BCF colleagues will be able to help. Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Same thing has started happening to me and AFAIK it has happened to Goose too. Bloody annoying as I have no idea how its happened. It seems to randomly happen on my Pc though, I select a different page to be my homepage and it seems okay for a few hours then it goes back to this crappy search engine (its called search-space or something).

That sounds like the same crappy search engine that I'm stuck with.

My machine doesn't default back to the crappy search engine until the it's been turned off. Maybe I just shouldn't turn it off!

You can download "ad-aware" at www.lavasoft.nu and "spybot" at https://security.kolla.de/news.php?lang=en

These are spyware removers and one should pick up the thing you have and remove it.

Is it 'lop' by any chance?? if so you can go to their site where it has a removal tool.

And, oh yeah, stay off the porn Mr. Green

https://www.pchell.com/support/searchspace.shtml
instructions of how to stop my specific problem were here. If it is the same site ( https://www.search-space.com/ ) then it should work for you too.
