I have been experiencing some difficulty in obtaining a battery side panel for my 1981 Kawasaki Z1000. I have tried various 'on line' bike breakers with little or no response, and have so far drawn a blank. Details of the machine are as above plus chassis no. KM100A
024294,engine no Z1000Z01352 and is the J3 series. It is secured on the right-hand (offside) side of the bike by three 'push-in' type lugs, with a chrome Z1000 raised on it. any help or info as to where to obtain this illusive component would be much appreciated.

Z1 owners club does them, along with a bunch of other hard to get detail parts like badges.

not any more, they were getting them from some guy who had the tooling made and was getting new ones injection molded. IIRC he was based 1/2 and 1/2 in Japan/UK. He used to have an add in the front of the Z1OC mag
