ive stripped the top end off my nsr 125r and need to know if the rings that i buy need to match the cylinder code that is stamped on the barrel or will standard rings be ok
also best place apart from honda for gaskets and rings and so on

Go to your nearest bike shop and ask them to order some rings for you, Honda stuff is expensive and 'pattern' parts will do.

Try David Silver for either genuine or pattern parts, depending on your budget.
A genuine set of rings will only set you back £22.

all rings are standart , same for all pistons around diameter 54
ref is 13010 KY4 305 £22 ex VAT
