I run out of petrol just as I hit the Oxford services off the m40.
I killed the engine to save what fumes of petrol I had but I had ear plugs in, me and my mate were coast racing.
I passed my mate and I as I did I made VROOOM VROOOM noises really loud. I then stood up on the pegs and through my hands in the air shouting, and he wins! or something to that effect.
Pulled around the bend and parked next to the water feature.
About 20+ people outside was staring at me laughing. I felt so cool. ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

On my first long-ish (50 miles) journey (on the Gix4) after passing my test.
I was used to 80/90mpg (and fuel gauge) of the CBR125.
Not the 45mpg of the high revving Suzi!!
Conked out 5 miles from my mates house - I was panicking and fearing the worst - I had no idea what was wrong, I had never run out of fuel before!!!
Luckily I was close to a slip road to a petrol station. Once I'd worked it out, flicked to reserve and chuckled to myself all the way there... ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

YEAAHHH MONN Read about my epic adventure here!
Also ran out of fuel going to the spray shop which closed at 6PM. I ended up pushing my bike back home which was 2 miles, on the icey road hugging the Firth of Forth in Musselburgh! Every step was a possible slip! and i didn't want my bike with new panels to be damaged AGAIN! ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

When I was young and stupid and too poor to mention I ran out of jungle-juice on the way to work.
Basically i'd chanced it - knowing I was low but the worry of that offset by the worry that I was late for work.
60mph, down to the bottom of a dual-carriageway as it starts a gentle slope uphill the bike dies. I coast to a stop, bike in the gutter and no pavement to shield me from lorries thundering past.
Great.
So I start to push, me standing on the grassy verge, about a foot higher than the road, back arched agonisingly down to push the small 125. I get about 50 yards when plod pulls up.
"What yer doing?"
"Ran out of fuel"
"Uh"
Then they drove off smirking, whilst I caught a glimpse of the jerry can in the back. Thanks guys ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

Ran out on the Dr350 I had years ago with the 'already on reserve trick'. Luckily that was 300 yards from a petrol station.
My mate did a classic in France, we were following the other lads GPS, sat in a small town on cobbles in the pissing down rain. My mate saw a sign that pointed to the road we were heading for and decides that he knows best. Him and his Firestorm disappear and the rest of us carry on. Turns out that the road we had been on was a ring road with a massive loop in it, a bit like this:
|
|
\________
x y
|
|-------------|
|
|
(love ascii art). We were at x, my mate rejoined the road at y, this was a detour of 20 miles. He ran out, due to the pitiful tank range of the Firestorm, under the 'Fuel - 1KM' sign on the French motorway.
How we laughed when he rocked up to Le Havre ferry port about an hour after us
Cheers

Ran out of fuel on the Musselburgh by-pass. Pulled off about half a mile short of the services but couldn't push the bike as its a dual carriage way. (TBH, I just couldn't be arsed.)
I sent a general All Friends SMS alert, eventually a pal turned up with a sig bottle filled with fuel. The thing is, it probably wasn't even half a mile to the garage, I could have walked it in 5 mins (cross country right enough) but I didn't want to leave the bike. (Plus, I couldn't be arsed.)
I gob of fuel would have been enough.
Only done that once. ____________________ Didn't catch anything. |

I ran out on my first Aprilia RS50 once, this was 2 Summers ago, I was all excited about doing some serious Summer riding, put my gear on, warmed the bike up and off I went, five minutes later I felt a splutter, by now I was 2 miles away from home and didn't have any cash on me, so I begun the journey back home (uphill!) with my bike spluttering and randomly cutting out and then starting with some shaking of the tank whilst pushing on the starter button.
I got it right back to my home and as I was about to turn into my road I felt the bike cut out for the last time, this time it was totally empty. Luckily however I live on the corner house on my road to where I pushed it, filled it with a jerry can I happened to have in the garage and off on my way I went again...
