Well, since passing my test I'm insured on my parents little motor which is a Citroen Xsara. Now today was my first experience on driving on English roads, alone.

The WHOLE 3 miles to the post office and Sainsburys, i was clenching my ring piece and i can officially confirm you're all fucking nutters. There is NO space whatsoever on these roads!

A moments lapse of concentration (or a sneeze Laughing) and i nearly ended up in a facking hedge! God i miss this road. It's now 6 lanes wide either side!

Then again, we do have people on think they drive on the central reservation out there.

I've heard of jumping the queue but this a bit er...over the top isn't it?

My point is...I think I'm claustrophobic Laughing How do i get over this!?

It's like anything, you adapt and become familiar. I don't have any problems driving my ma-hoosive 4x4 Shogun around, and the roads in the SE are pretty tight and chocker.

I've been to Dubai 4 times and the driving has always been horrendous. It looks like cars don't crash over there, they "kiss".

Everyone is beeping their horn every other moment, and cars flick between lanes without looking properly all the time.

I distinctly remember when I was there thinking "I would never ride here on a motorbike". Especially not filtering, you'd last 5 minutes if you were lucky!

I lasted two years...Laughing

Had two accidents, one of which was wheelying and flipping. The other a guy t boned me whilst he drove onto a round about.

The point is, the roads are so vast, even drive like a cunt there. If the speed limit is 80 kmh as it is on Al Wasl road, you'll often see me popping down to the shops at 120 Laughing

Been to Dubai recently dude? Don't. I got fucking lost around the defence roundabout interchnage because it's all sodding roadworks now!

Highlandbiker, i'm a pansy (doing my license in April and you'll see me on the roads in Summer and any other sunny day Laughing)

Half_Lyfe, i could deal with London traffic (sure, they'd be a lot of swearing and general road rage involved) because the roads are still wider than where i am. Just zooming past each other on a 60 MPH down a single lane road with a car coming the other way at the same speed is FUCKING scary!

I live in the 'burbs of London, but everytime i go into central London on a bike or in a car it makes my blood boil, theres a line around lewisham and suddenly everyone turns into a c*nt and actually tries to crash into you.

Mike i said i will soon...i don't doubt i'll get lost even with a GPS because of sheep blocking the road or something.

Dave, seriously, ride in Dubai, come back to UK and you will feel unbelievably calm and relaxed...probably after killing a few people out there.

I love the little lanes around here! Once you're used to them you'll be fine, just don't go any faster than you feel safe to begin with. The lanes on Dartmoor are especially good. On some of the very narrow ones there is a bit of luck involved in going round the corners though, my great uncle who lived around here had a head-on in his car once. (Just to put your mind at ease Laughing)

Yeh cheers Chris, now i'm slightly more mobile we'll have to organise something with you me and Jake Thumbs Up

I think i'll feel safer on a bike as there'll TECHNICALLY be more space then but still. Scary shit!
