Anyone ever used Almaxx in liverpool (Melling actually - but near enough Confused ) for bike training?

Looking to do my DAS and I've been told that they are really cheap - as in around £250 for an intensive DAS course & Test? Might give them a ring later to check.

I done my CBT in aintree, but they want over £400 for the same DAS course.

Any comments appreciated.

Easy Rider is expensive, if i had the cash i would fork out 250 to almaxx and do my das n all.

Almaxx DAS covers theory, lessons, test.

Cansa its actually £299 for the full DAS from Almaxx (which does include everything tests, lessons and vehicle/clothing hire). Steve got it for £250 because he already had a valid CBT certificate, so they knocked 50 buff off it for him.

Even at £299 for the entire course, thats still an absolute bargin if they are any good Shocked

All in all, for my cbt, theory and DAS I probably forked out 700 odd quid? 5 and a half day DAS though.

5 day DAS is for peeps who dont have a clue about how to ride (ie starting from scratch). 5 day course they teach you everything about the gears etc.. 3 day course you already know enough and can get straight on the road thats why its only £299 @ Almaxx. If ya get me??

My mate did his CBT at almaxx last week said it was like being taught by a mate rather than a tutor. Said he was very good and the prices are great.
Hope that helps. Thumbs Up

I did my CBT and DAS with them as have two of my mates. I can't fault them.

IIRC the money covers the CBT, around 6 lessons and they book/pay for the theory and actual test. Gear is all included in the price. If you need extra lessons you pay extra money but that's entirely up to you.

I paid for two more lessons just to make sure that I was ready but then I passed first time so it was worth it for me.

Boyd took me on the CBT and Karl did most of my DAS. they are both awesome guys and really easy to get on with. I'd have to agree with the comment about being taught by a mate but they aren't afraid to have a word if you piss about or aren't making progress.

They knocked 10% off everything I have bought from there since I did my DAS and they deducted the £300 my mate paid for his DAS from the cost of the bike he was after. Essentially free training.

Like I said, they are a great bunch. I still ride down there to say hello occasionally. They still give me a discount on gear Very Happy

Hope this helps.

If i may... If your in the Wigan or St Helens area... Theres a bike school called, Bikesmart, and its full of the friendliest bunch of people ever, you can find them in the yellow pages and such, if your from those area's please give them a try, i used then and i go back to talk to them and have a laugh, and they taught me everything i know about riding, and the results are plain to see. (bar a few bad habits picked up from other road users)
