Whats the creepiest thing you've seen while riding at night?

When I ride my bike to work, I have about a 40 minute ride down a 2 lane highway in the middle of nowhere. I get off at midnite, and I'm lucky if I see any one else on the ride home.

So, your mind starts to play with you.

One night, I swear to god I saw the mothman

This man sized figure was in the middle of the road about maybe a half mile down the road. As I got closer, I could see bright red eyes, and what looked like wispy wings. I got within about 100yards or so, and it just evaporated into thin air.

Another night, I felt a tap on my back. Man that creeped me out. I had to pull over in one of the towns and walk around for a bit under the lights of a gas station to get my wits back about me.


I also saw a Mountain Lion last summer, but I was in my truck on the same stretch of road. He was just walking into the trees off the side of the road. It was definitely a big cat. I thought at first it was a dog, but you could tell from the way it was walking and its tail that it was a cat. Strange because they aren't supposed to be around here, but some guys at work said people will see them now and then in our area.

i havent seen anything myself when riding at night.
but my cousin once saw a person dressed in jeans walking along the bypass towards her car. she slammed her brakes on (in a car) and skidded, there was a car coming towards her who didnt react so couldnt have seen anything and then the figure disappointed.
she drove home carefully and after telling a friend about it she was told that her friend's friend had died on that bypass and wore jeans and after my cousin fully described the figure it seemed to deffinatley be the same person. others have seen it too. can only be described as a ghost - and not really coincidence as several people have mentioned seeing the figure.

i do occasionally worry about seeing things or feeling things when riding alon at night through lanes or long county roads. i hate junctions on these roads - having wondered if someone was around all of the way along it i dont tend to like the idea of stopping to wait for other cars.but havent had problems as of yet - touch wood!

When I was living in Zimbabwe I saw 6th brigade soldiers execute a man at the side of the road but as it was in daylight I doubt it counts.

I had a piss in the middle of nowhere one night, riding home from my dad's 24 miles from my house. Must have been only a farm house within 10 miles (possible slight exaggeration there, but a couple miles for sure).
Anyway, whilst having a piss against a verge on a straight road lined with tree's each side, there's suddenly a lot of rustling and shaking straight in the tree lined verge I'm pissing up. In my panic I stumble backwards, around the safe side of my bike, slightly pissing over my textiles, and the rustling stops, but there's still the sound of something moving about. So I throw my leg over my bike, textiles unfastened, and fly wide open, and ride off in a suitably spooked fashion.

Not the best survival skills ever tbh with the panicy indecision, and probably all that over an inquisitive badger too

While in Ireland, I once drove a good 3 miles or so in fog (very low cloud?) which stopped 5 feet from the ground. It was night, and the car lights lit up the road ahead perfectly but stopping the car and standing up had us all with our heads in the fog.

Unfortunately it was in the pre-mobile phone cam ages and I had no means of taking a few snaps. It wasn't really that creepy either - just weird...

I've seen a few things, namely a "train" speeding along on a cycle track, that vanished into thin air.

Now 'believe' in ghosts too, after seeing more than one, which there is no other logical explanation for.

My one is not night and is from cycling. Had the wind on my back and was making good progess down a lane. As I rounded a gentle bend, there was this large black dog standing on the road with its head in the vergeside grass. There was no owner in sight. I slowed as dogs have a habit of chasing cyclists. When it heard me it looked up and boy oh boy. It sure looked like a panther . When it jumped into the hedge it really moved in a most feline way.

Again, not at night or on a bike...
But back when i lived on a farm a few years ago i saw a large black cat 3 times in the space of a few months. The first time i was out rabbiting and as i looked through the rifle scope at it i could tell it was definatly not a normal cat, it was way too big.
We also found a sheep carcass in the woods on our land. It had obviously been dragged there by something
So yeah, they are out there!

I used to travel down a a horrible road called 'Shire Lane' nr orpington/biggin hill on my scooter, this road supposedly has many ghosts, one fairly well documented being a roman centurian! Now I've never seen anything* but it don't half shit you up when your minds wandering to places like that and you think 'Fuck I can't go faster than 30mile per fucking hour'!
*did see some people at the edge of the road once which shit me up but I was a very drunk passenger, so they could have just been emo kids or sumint!lol
