Really shit.

Came off due to a 3 ince layer of mud in the centre of the road, which i havn't used it in awhile.

This happened about 30 minutes ago from me posting this. And sods law i was riding it to the garage for a service.

The guy there was kind enough to give me a lift home, so big thanks to him.

Damage to bike isn't too bad, broken brushguard, broken indi, snapped side panel. It rode fine to the garage, and the handbars arnt bent. Which is good.

As for my gear, incredibly muddy.

The bike is at the garage now and they are going to clean/service/make sure everything is okay. Hopefully picking it up tonight.

As for me, I have a small graze on my knee. Im fucking thankful.

Note: I ride on these types of road every day, the fact that i lost all grip and had no chance to correct meant my bike went down.

Gutted for you mate, looks like the whole road is covered in shite and you just got caught out.

At least the damage isn't too bad.

Road tyres, the mud got everywhere.

When i came off, i pretty much slid on my front, with my legs facing the bike. Partly why i think im not too hurt. But the mud has gotten everywhere. Might get some pics of my jeans too. >.>!

You would still come off in that at 15mph. I must have been doing around 20-25mph before I hit the mud. And there was no way i was not coming off, i may have stayed on if i was going straight, but as there was a slight curve i steered then came straight off.

Did you realise how deep the mud was?

If so, why did you pick the harder option? Always go for the easiest option in situations your unsure about - get off the bike and walk it through. May not look cool, may make you look like a fag if someone sees you, but it saves you a bill at the end of it.

Not sure if you read my OP, Fad, but it was a road I hadn't used in a couple of months. I didnt realise how deep the mud was, no.

And its an FMX650 Colin.

Just thought you may have been able to gauge roughly how deep or how bad it was as you was approaching it.

I was using the right side of the road, as I went around the slight bend i hit the centrer of the road, with the thick mud.

Cant really make it out to be honest, all looks quite thick with mud to me.

Either way, every situation has its own circumstances which affect what happens there and then and are forgotten about when reflecting back on it.

Doesn't look too bad. Karcher should be able to do most of the repairs.

Haha it is a road, honestly what you see there is the type i ride on everyday, i just got caught out because of the thick mud.

Anyway, called the garage and everything is fine, any damage is just cosmetic.
