been on the 650 this week, and my god what a difference its made to my riding!

I'm a lot slower round town, I'll happily sit in traffic and whiz round when it clear, rather than taking chances on a 125. I feel a lot safer round town now.

The second thing is the power Shocked my god going from 14.6 to 80... I don't think theres too much for me to handle, the bikes very tame around town, its just when you whack the throttle open it takes off (it power wheelies in first Shocked ) , i cant imagine what a spots 1000 would be like!

And finally the bike, the brakes seem a bit crap considering the amount of power the bike has, but i don't know if that because i haven't got the balls to really squeeze them or not. And i don't know if the battery's dieing, the bike wont start with the lights on its not got enough power to fire up. Also the idle seems a bit high on it, it idles at 3000 when its warm, but from cold it idles at 1500 - 2000.

I'm still undecided on whether i will restrict it or not, I really don't think theres a dangerous amount of power, and I am so much slower round town, I'm not really worried about the legality of the restriction, its whether or not i will be safe on a 90bhp bike, which i think i will...

I'd like to see that. Not necessarily doubting you, just not going to believe you until I've seen it.

Jumping from a 33bhp RS125 to about 60bhp on the CBR400 felt stupidly fast, so jumping from a CBR125 with 14bhp onto an 80bhp SV650 would probably feel absolutely nuts. Laughing

i went from a 29 bhp Dergi GPR to a 100 bhp Yamaha Thundercat.
was the best thing i ever did Mr. Green
not stopped smiling for the last month since i got the new bike.
as long as your not stupid youll be fine - dont forget you can always ride in 5th or 6th gear to kill the acceleration a bit at lower speeds - the engine will still probably be able to pull ok.

Last night I went from CG125 to VFR400 and that feels really fast. Very sturdy and about 70bhp with all the mods!?
Beutiful bike though!
