K tech NC29 rebuild ?

You can get the forks off if you have a front paddock stand, crash bungs and axle stands.

Just had a quote to overhaul my NC29 forks for £78.50 plus VAT plus any servie parts needed, what is involved in a standard overhaul and should I pay the extra for new bushes etc ?

Anyone dealt with K tech before ?

for that sort of money they are just probably replacing the dust seals,oil seals and bushes with new fluid which is a very easy job if you can get the front end lifted off the ground.

never dealt with k tech before, but with a haynes manual and an abba stand with a mini jack or a bottom yoke stand you can do it yourself.

make sure you put the correct amount of fluid inside thou!

I got my VFR forks refurbished, rehoned and got progressive fork springs from K-tech, fair play they are beautiful now.

Cost me about £150 i think, but it was worth it for the piece of mind of knowing that someone who really knew what they were doing had looked at them and checked they were fine. They had been decidedly dodgy before that, i'd nearly crashed once or twice and i was losing faith in them.

You got to be able to trust your forks...

P.S. I'd get new bushes, and in fact get all the wearable parts replaced, especially on an old bike like the NC29, believe me they'll be lovely afterwards...
