Best way would be to just go and see. Don't think ZX9R's are exactly commonly known to be raced, more of a sports tourer compared to anything modern.

Looks immaculate for the price!

It might actually be OK. ZX9's aren't really sought after race bikes. I would reccomend viewing it and check for lockwire drilling, chipped wheel rims etc.

Plus, ZX9's are known to be reasonable value, and you can pick up a 929 blade for £2500 with a few miles on, so its probably about right. As I said, be wary and view the bike but it could be a bargain.

What's wrong with a cat. D write off?

If everything's square then it'll be fine. Cat D just means that he busted the fairings and maybe bent a fork. He could have just replaced them and it's good as new.

A cat. D write off 7 years ago is no big deal.

Nout wrong with a catD but he states very clearly that its Hpi clear!
Report him to ebay as he is misselling a potentially lethal motorcycle.

What are you on about?

HPI clear means it hasn't got finance on it or it has been nicked or A/B write off.

'Category A - the entire vehicle must be crushed.

Category B - the vehicle may be broken for parts but it must never be returned to the road.

Category C - possible structural damage but the vehicle is repairable. The cost of the damage would have been more than the book value of the car if that repairs were carried out at garage prices and official manufacturers parts.

Category D - most likely to be nonstructural damage and should be relatively easily repairable. In this case the vehicle may have been economical to repair but for other reasons it was written off. For example where the insurer have to provide a courtesy car the time taken to repair the vehicle would mean that the courtesy car cost together with the repair cost would be excessive. In a category D scenario it is more likely that the insurer did not wish to repair.

Category X - this is minor damage and easily repairable.'

Cat D means fuck all, 2 bikes could have the exact same damage but because of age and value of them one would be a write of and one wouldn't
