bloody link pipe fell off

was blasting home from work last night, my link pipe was quite loose and when i went over a wee bump my exhaust can mooved and the link pipe fell out, i quickly pulled to the side of the bypass and jumped off the bike and started running up the side of the motorway, watching cars going over the top of it but not hit it, i'd run about 150meters and was about 20 meters from it when a big fuck off truck was coming down the motorway, i had no choice but to let it go past, as much as i like my link pipe ... i also like my life...
but what do you know.... the truck quashed it flat!!!! doh, it wouldnt be so bad if it was a stock link pipe or one i could phone up somewhere and buy, but it was custom made for my bike. grrrr
so rather pissed off and soaked from the rain i rode home nearly getting pulled and going deaf in the process.
i got another made today 100 quid and 4 hours worth of welding later it was on my bike, its good but jus not quite as good as the last one Sad

Reminds me of a similar event i once had.

I was on a days lesson for my test, coming off a roundabout onto a 70mph dual carriageway. I did my lifesaver and my visor flipped off, broke a side pod and fucked off. Pulled into a lay by about 200m down and ran back for it, as it was still in ok shape.

it was lying in the mddle of the first lane after the exit of the roundabout, got to my crossing point to get it back, and a car comes along, looks at me and aims for my visor.

The git squashed it in half, didnt snap, but just bent.

Stood there shouting at this twat, who came back round and did it again just to be sure.

I so wish it popped his tyre! I had to ride around without a visor for the remainder of the day, eyes stung like mad afterwards and a new visor and side pod cost me £43 quid!

Its sod's law.

I had a bar-end come off mid roundabout once, luckily i was able to pull over and retrieve it.
Could be worse, a mate of mine once lost several grand in cash out of his rucksack because he hadn't closed the zip properly and the wind got in and tugged the rucksack open.
