anything can be done, you'd probably have to make some engine mount adaptors, i dont think it would be areal major.... depending on how mechanical you are of course

You wont get further than a phone call, and do that before getting the hot axe out ,if Yamaha had deemed it possible to equip their RD350 with a pissy little frame they had already kicking about ,do you not think they would have done it rather than all the R&D that goes into designing a bike frame Confused ??your attempting to build a monster ....a field bike at that Thumbs Down

Don't talk such complete bollocks. Kawasaki 500 triple engines more or less drop straight into DT400 frames & there are several of those little Yam 80 things (TZR?) that looks like minature RD500's running about with RZ350 engines in them....

& from my memory the RD350 DID come from the factory with a "pissy little frame"

the tdr frame is far superior to the shitty rd350 steel cradle frame,
its far and away strong enough to handle the 60hp the rd supposedly puts out

Blue, not saying it cant be done ,just why??????? Confused ZRX61,hes asking "in what way will it affect my insurance ?"my answer was he will have the devils own job to insure a "bastard" bike,Hmmmnnz,he has a DTR frame not the TDR,for which there is already a YPVS engine installed by Yamaha, and that is exactly my point..........buy a TDR if you want the go of the rd engine, dont fanny about with frankenstien

my mistake, i still think that a dt frame is more than capable of handling it,
i wouldnt think it would be too hard to get insurance, people manage it all the time for the gsxr 7/11 conversions

The TDR frame is fine, a few people have put RD engines in with a little bit of minor engine mount modification, also you can get an RD engine into the DT, ive seen pictures of a fully road legal one and it looked brilliant Thumbs Up

I say if you have the money and time then go for it Thumbs Up Alternitavly get yourself a TDR and put the 350 engine in that, theres a guide on the TDR forum to help you with that one Thumbs Up
