nice one dude !
unfortunately restriction is a given, to keep your dad happy, its going to cost. usually £150 ish including labor.
all for 4 washers (aluminium) and a form.
ask a garage what you can do to keep the cost down.

yeh, sounds good. every little bit to keep the cost down helps.
keep us informed, i'm interested to see how much we can actually get restricted for.
stupid 2 years, should be 1 year really, enough to stop people killing themselves, but not enough to get bored stiff .

Two years is about right, because a lot of people only ride in fair weather, and some people don't ride at all immediately after they pass their test.
Which brings up another question, what is to stop people from passing their 33bhp test at 17, waiting two years without riding and then buying a fireblade? ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Insurance?
Anyways, you dont need a certificate or anything, just buy them/get them made up to the right size. If you can get them off someone for free, the whole thing shouldnt cost you anything at all
they'll take half an hour to fit
And hey presto, youre restricted, if they check, youre safe.
No need to shell out 150/250 quid AT ALL - I found this out after Id shelled out 250 of course. Fuckin shite ____________________ "Oh....it looks like Average Joe's is forfeiting the match!" - "Yeah, its a risky strategy but lets see if it pays off for 'em Cotton." |

Im not stupid Marjay, I know they can what im saying is that a 20 year old with No no claims (wouldnt have them after not riding for two years as you suggested) is going to be quite the bitch.
But blades are notoriously expensive for insurance, for young riders.
My mate on here has a TLR, he's 18 (Dav1) He was looking at getting insured on an '07 zx10r, with two years NC(poss 3) and it'll cost him £592 what a bastard he is! lol
Another mate Phil has an SV1000, he's 19, but pays a bit more I think, or will do, cos he claimed and got 3 points...but he still doesnt pay as much as I do.
Im on a zx6r, just turned 19, but cos some cunts stole my first bike nearly two years ago, I havent yet got my first year no claims (march ) and hence, I pay a grand and a half TPFT. It sucks donkey ass, I tell thee.

a restrictor for my xt660x was £100 including fitting but they may have lowered price a bit as the bike was coming from same dealer
didn't make to much difference with top speed, 92mph with restrictor 111mph without
acceleration was a bit boring though, as soon as the restrictor came off i struggled to keep the front wheel down, good fun! ____________________ https://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=FostersMonster 493,439 Views!

I'm 17, passed my test asap, i've riden bike since i was about 6, on a fizz at 16, had 1 crap bike, in-between getting a good one, already bored of restriction. you have a valid point, but i still think 2 years is excessive.i can understand for people that go out and buy the biggest and fastest bike, with no experience.

I'd say just get the washers off ebay or wherever and fit them yourself or get a mechanically minded mate to fit them for you.
as far as I know, the only legal requirement after passing your A2 is that you have to be restricted to 33bhp.there isnt actually any part of the law that states that you need a certificate from FI international.the certificate is handy for showin cops that you are restricted, but firstly, it says that your bike has been restricted but gives no proof that the washers are still in (you could have easily taken them out yourself) and secondly, is it really worth £100+??
up to you though the worst that could happen is they take your bike to be dyno'd, find out it is restricted and give it you back.
save the money and get a nice loud can |

tell your dad you have had it fitted,
get a mate to print a fake doc for your dad to see
you got quotes from local garage's for the work to restrict it. ____________________ looking at getting a full uk licence, after 3 cbt's bored of doing them
