i have no tax... yay.

im insured, MOT'd and all set to go and all that....

apart from tax.

now, ive got £6 in my account, and cant afford the £38 tax on a GSXR600, so i have 2 options.

1) risk it until thursday/payday
2) be a fag and watch trisha on afternoon TV until thursday.

Find a mate with sky, will make thursday more bearable.

Think of it this way, with £6 if you ride it too much it'll need petrol and then you cant afford to eat.

Or if you get pulled it could be lots more monies than you can afford so you could end up being poor for longer.

Take the bordom hit now and pay the £38 to avoid the worse situation later. Thumbs Up

As said your decision but if you are caught they can take the bike away and there is nothing you can do about it. Then its a long walk home and over £100 to get it back and you can only do that if you have taxed it.

Is the GSXR400 still taxed, MOTd and insured? If so you could always swap the plate over until you get paid. Only problem is if the coppers know their bikes and see an A-reg SRAD that isn't obviously a personalised plate then alarm bells might start ringing.

Not that I've ever done that of course.

Which would be FAR more illegal than simply riding with no tax.

Personally I'd risk it - unless you got a complete arsehole they'd probably let it go.

Was on news other day
clamp down on it
as there is like millions of bikes in the UK
riding around each year without tax.

Usually summer riders and not full time riders..
so if a merc passed you, dump the bike and run?
haha, no point risking it, as you'll get points.
like not being insured for a car brother got 6 points and 250 fine and threatened to get his car towed...

So probably 3 points if not 6 when you get caught...
and just think have you got anyone who dosnt peticularlly like you, all they have to do is report you dont have any tax and the cozzpots will wait and find you and youll be royally fucked.

For this kind of fine you need to be a prolific offender and be done by the DVLA.

If you are stopped by police you will mostly likely at most recieve a £60 FPN, if anything at all.

If not stopped by police then in the time frame you're talking about you will not hear anything from the DVLA. They have too many to deal with and if it only ran out out tax end of Dec you wont be on their radar as yet.

Still... I of course don't condone it Thinking

You'd be fucked if it does then?

Normal speed cameras don't by themselves, set them off and it'll come to the notice of the police that you should be SORN'ed

There is still the Police's APNR cameras and the DVLA's Stingray Cameras to avoid, not to mention random stops by Officers of the Law.

Be a good lad and put the bike down until Thursday.

Get your mates round, smoke a spliff and play nintendo.

They haven't, they are crushing more and more at the moment. ANPR cameras are also on some town CCTV and on motorway bridges also the SPECs are set up to use ANPR in some towns/cities.

Bit of a no brainer really...
£38 or risk a £60 fine.

Sods law is bound to come into play and the one time you get pulled you have no tax, or you get knocked off.....

Damn, if I'd known you weren't taxed yesterday I would of chased you down and performed a citizens arrest, then bought your newly modified cube shaped SRAD for 70p.

Speaking of seeing people out and about in Plymouth, I saw a blue RXS100 heading up the embankment towards marsh mills, you Chris?

Matt - would your parents or gf not lend you the 30-odd quid for a couple of days?
