Just beggers belief and once again show's how these groups fail to intergrate into our society.
No wonder a lot of the banks and B/S turn them away when they turn up with wads of cash to open accounts.

As this is also the city where "Six out of ten drivers 'not insured"
Kinda makes you wonder if thats a fait issue as well, to run around uninsuresd, taxed on the mobile and have 6 kids running riot in the back of the Datson........ Twisted Evil

nah effectively its a scam in that I recall that the Islamic banking system doesn't allow you to charge interest , and as such they use various mechanisms to get around it , Islamic mortgages are sort of like the part ownership mortgages we have.

It you buy X amount of the house every 3-6 months but pay an extortionate rent which is actually interest but not named interest.

Oh and banks aren't allowed to take big wads of money like that anymore due to SOCPA 2005 and anti money laundering rules , as you MUST be properly indentified before they can do biz for you , which is a scam which the government are implementing to force people to take up non voluntary ID cards which will be impossible to live without, thus my bank which I've been with for 13 years (yes I do have other accounts which I transfer money to since this has appauling interest rate) , needs to identify me every year, forever.

Even though I am completely legit.

I think its a loophole so muslims can make money out of finance. Similar to how my friend who is an ardent muslim smokes weed, but doesn't drink alcohol etc Laughing

When my g/f was working for a criminal law firm she said they had quite a large number of muslim client who had been charged for drink driving. Apparently they have a habit of going out drinking in towns away from where they live in order not to be seen by members of their family. When stopped by the police and asked if they had been drinking, the standard answer would be "No, i'm a muslim. I dont drink".
Funny how they would then fail a breath test...... Confused

But it doesn't specifically state it in the Koran.. Or at least thats what he says. But they are not supposed to take mind altering substances apparently, but I don't know the ins and outs
