Ok, another bloody bone MOT thread. Rolling Eyes

Well, I'm taking the CB for it's MOT on friday. I'm taking it to the same place that has passed it for the last 20 years.

I have had a look at https://www.motuk.com/Motorcycle%20MOT.htm and the only concern I have is the mudguard -

The tyre and wheel must run free in free-wheel nor must they foul the suspension or the mudguards

(Nice grammar, btw Wink )

Now, the front mudguard seems to rub ever so slightly on the tyre. Will that fail?

I will have a poke at adjusting it tomorrow, but if I can't, am I as well just removing the whole thing for the test just to be on the safe side? Confused

It may well be a fail, it depends on how bad it is. Why is it rubbing? Is it bent? Is the tyre the wrong size?

As for removing it, does it also act as a fork brace? If so removing it is a fail. If there is a seperate fork brace then you will be OK.

Agh, will have to check ref fork brace.

It's rubbing as it's sitting slightly off centre, may be as simple as lining up the bracket (if there is one, just bought this bike) and the guard. Just want it through the MOT, then can sort these kind of things out! Laughing

edit: just checked the haynes book of lies, seems the mudguard bolts straight to the fork legs. Confused

I guess a bit of twiddling and wiggling is required tomorrow then...
