hey peoples!

right last night i was coming back home and my kmx died out i looked in the oil tank and no oil... my warning light failed and well... im assuming its knackered sooo....

iv been looking at cbr 125's for awhile anyway so im now looking to just go for it! sell my TDR 125, rebuild my kmx and sell that too

im just wondering afew things...

how fast do they go? iv heard mixed comments from 65 - 80?!

what mpg would they do? std and with a aftermartet exhuast

can you really as the sales guy i spoke to today run it flat out for as long as you want and it will not even flinch?!

whats the differance through the revisions iv seen loads of differant ones?!

im considering going for one near me its the older shape model at 2199 57 reg and 2 years warrenty seems a good deal but would i be better off going secound hand for around 1300?!

I'd suggest they are as intolerant of being ran out of oil as any other bike.......

Guessing the newly dead was a 2t? CBR is four-stroke so not as killable in the same way. Get a second or third hand one, more value for less money. Not the fastest of 125's though.

Tiny as well.

Theyll do 70 at a push, and an aftermarket exhaust will do bugger all, maybe an extra 2mph top speed and will accelerate a bit smoother.

MPG - imagine around the 40 - 45ish mark. Quite high.

As for running it non stop and it wont flinch...well...it shouldnt run out of oil being a 4 stroke, itll take some really bad maintenance or an engine malfunction to do that. But yes, using common sense you still have to stop for petrol / take a piss etc. etc. But the salesman was right, it should handle long periods of use with ease, though after a particularly long trip it may be a bit unhappy with you.

Id get one second hand, theres 04 ones floating around for the £1000 mark.

Year of model. Not necessarily major changes, normally just switches or new mirrors or silly little things. Applicable accross most of the manufacturers. Heres a few examples so you get the idea -

cbr125r-6 = 2006 model.
cbr125r-4 = 2004 model.

ZX6R P7F = 2007 model.
ZX6R C6H = 2006 model.

GSXR K3 = 2003 model
GSXR k8 = 2008 model
