You lot have a lot to answer for with your scrimping and recycling of parts to fit a function. The idea of a couple of ammo boxes as hard panniers seems like a good idea now.

It may have looked tidier* if you'd left the exhaust straight and then mounted the box each side of the seat in a more traditional manner. The use of the tyres is genius.

*is this even a word in the rat community?

form over function mate, its regularly used as a trail bike, and as such the low standard exhaust stops me getting through most of the water crossings.

Its defo unique Laughing.

Sounds pretty awesome for a 125, but I always thought the point of ratting a bike was because it needed to be. Not just for the looks. Stock in the first picture it doesnt look like there is any reason to rat it.

I'm not overly keen, BUT I do appreciate the style and understand that everyone has a unique way of doing things and this is certainly unique.

If YOU like it then thats the main thing, I'm not overly sure but then I like road riding and this sort of style will always split opinions.

Good job, from what little I know about ratting.

There is a crossover to 'survival' bike, which I think virus' CG falls into myself. My CB will be more survival than pure rat, simply because it's not a rotting heap as it is.

Tyre stuff is ingenious. Thumbs Up Ammo box is a bit brown though...

id like to clarify i didn't rat it for looks, i did it for 'form over function'

low bars, removing the originally annoying rack, covering the petrol tank with leather after the ex keyed it, then trail converting it, seen as i go off roading quite regularly,

mudskipper i think your right, its definitely more survival than rat, its designed to handle anything i can throw at it really.

oh and matt, after a bit of tweaking its going to be even louder Cool

Cheers
John
