I don't know why but I can't help thinking there is something a little dodgy about this guy.

https://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=mods_watches&sort=3&rows=50&since=-1&include=0&showpics=1&stab=0

I emailed his to ask about the prices of RAM he is selling and how much he had to sell, he wrote back "110 GBP shipped". Informative Confused

He has loads for sale but no feedback and has only just recently registered. Would any of you lot have any second thoughts about buying from this guy? Neutral

I wouldn't buy from him

He only accepts NoChex, and from what you say he isn't saying much about his items. Steer clear IMHO until he has some feedback.

I thought NoChex was a 'secure' way of paying like PayPal?

Probably the bit thats bugging me most is that he (allegedly) registered in Malaysia but his location is "UK".

quite a few people bid quite a lot on some of his items.

I already bid £50 for "New AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton 333Mhz 512K (Box with fan) " Sad

erm nochex is secure yes, but you'll send him the cash and more than likely not receive the goods!

Hi

It is a secure way of getting the money to him. Whether you get anything from him is another thing.

I would probably not bid for anything from him. I might bid for something very cheap so see whether I got it, and then go from there.

All the best

If you notice on Ebay quite a few ads say something about not dealing with buyers from Malaysia and the far east. I asked a jeweler who I was buying stuff from why his ad said it and he said he and quite a few of his mates had been ripped off by buyers in these countries and he wouldn't deal with anyone from there again!

I got ripped off for £850 on a laptop I really wanted...

Luckily tho I twigged just before I sent the cash and never sent it.

Thing is the bloke had good feedback! but was dodgy as hell hmm

Theres' some bloke selling a 02 R1 for £2000 buy it now.

I thought it was a joke so mailed him asking if it included an engine/wheels/frame Laughing and he has mailed back saying its the whole bike, but he will only accept Western Union and will only send the bike by Fed Ex.

I replied saying I'd only pay cash and wouldn't send money that I'd have to go view the bike and pay cash and take bike there and then...

I wouldn't buy it anyway, but was just curious as to why he was selling so cheap. Very dodgy

Have a look here, https://www.crucial.com/uk/ cheapest RAM I've found. I use them quite often, if you order before 2.00pm it is usually delivered next day free.

ebay is far, far cheaper chan crucial.

To get an idea, when i was upgrading my pc about 4 months ago, i sold my 256mb stick of crucial RAM (PC100) for £27.00 and bought a 512mb stick of no-name RAM (PC133) for £33.00

No offence mate but I'd rather buy from Crucial and spend an extra £17 than buy none branded RAM from Ebay. I deal with Crucial on quite a regular basis and order large amount of RAM. I've never had any trouble with a single piece and they have great customer service should you need it. Wouldn't fancy trying to return something to Ebay though. Crucial are part of Micron one of the largest manufacturers in the world.

paypal and nochex are big favourites for the cons out there as they don't need to give you a home address of where they are (so they could be anywhere in the world)

I got ripped off £300 a long while ago now via nochex. Nochex were very little help as they wouldn't hand out the guys details so he couldn't be traced. To be honest if they had given me the details he was probably from asia or where ever, and the cops are going to do fuck all about it anyway.

So make sure you trust the person you are buying off 100% and get their address and phone number before sending the money.

TBH I think it could have been because he listed so many items the same, but individualy, instead of posting that he had X amount of Y and Z for sale.

If he didn't want to sell because the price was too low then he should have put reserves on his items. Did you get sorted with your upgrade anyway P_J?

I got a 120gid hd from pc world for £70 which was only about £5 more than the 80 gig one.

Since I got it i've been told that you can get them for less online but at the time I wanted one there and then so I went to G`s favorite shop to get one.

Because I already have an 8 and a 40 gig in my current PC, i'm not really that desperate for one, I could do without, for now, but i would prefer to get a new one.

Ill look on ebay when I work out how much I have left on payday, I been off for the last three weeks and have been buying crap that I don't need so i'm a bit short. Smile

If anyone has one for sale though... cheap,
Just post it here Thanks.
