Hi guys,

Bought some kit about a year ago from Hein Gericke, and the pants have split at the seams, the zips fallen off, etc.

Just wondering how good their 2 year warranty is? Am I going to have to go through loads of crap to get them fixed or is it going to be relatively hassle free?

Thanks,

T

I bought some of their windstopper leggings in December, the stitching came undo on both legs, one more so than the other. I'd worn them I guess around 20 times and washed them 4/5 times, took them back to the Cheltenham branch with my receipt and they changed them there and then. All I had to do was fill in my name and address on the returns note and sign it, I rate 'em. Thumbs Up

The only problem I have is I don't keep receipts and some of the stores won't play if you don't have one.

Perfectly willing to do a like for like swap if you have a receipt though.

I got a set of alpinestars gloves, 2 months later they had ripped on my finger. I threw away my reciept, but they still exchanged them for another pair there and then.

Nice blokes that work there too. That is Leeds hein gericke.

Comment above about the receipts is valid.

HG glove split on the end of one finger. Wouldn't replace without receipt. Excuse I was given is some of their old stock is sold off to market traders and at BMF shows so just because it says HG doesn't mean you bought it from them. This was at the Hull store.

However, if you paid by credit card and you can find that receipt/transaction then I was told they'd accept that Rolling Eyes (didn't explain if I'd bought more than I thing how they'd know from single card entry, ho hum)

HTH Thumbs Up

I took a photograph of the receipt on my phone a while ago as I know I'm crap with receipts, he circled the number that I need to give to them in order to take stuff back.

This from the Walton HG store?

I took a jacket back last year as the zip had broke on it and it was replaced with no hassle at all. This was about a year after I bought it and I couldn't find my receipt.

I always find the staff really friendly and always end up spending hours in there talking and debating whether to get new gear or not... Rolling Eyes

They replaced the whole jacket?

I had loads of hassle when a certain manager was there, he ripped into me for no real reason and wouldn't take my stuff back.

Nick is sound tho, and the other guy with the beard Very Happy

Ah,

I think I'll keep the jacket as is, and just take the trousers back, don't want to take the piss too much (As my jacket hasn't really been looked after to be honest)

"Locate your proof of purchase. If you haven’t got a receipt, you can use a credit or debit card statement or cheque stub. Own-brand goods, something exclusive to one shop (such as a customised carrier bag) or the packaging may prove where you bought the item. If someone was with you when you bought it, they can back you up. Remember - it is up to you to show where and when you bought the clothes."
