Is that just an intricate paint job?

or is it not a real helmet, for display use only?

Er . . . Bambo expands when wet, it was used as a torture by the Japanese placing it under the finger nails. So when it rains its going to be too big surely? Shocked Mr. Green

Im surprised they've made something like that, its pretty genius since bamboo is very tough, if you go over to china and Hong kong all the skyscrapers are built with bamboo for scaffolding.

Since this uses bamboo fibres not sure if it would retain all its original qualities though. Its probably woven then laquered to stop moisture getting in. Think its probably more for asthetics though and something abit different. Wonder how it holds up to a crash.

Funny, but offer someone a carbon fibre lid, and they'll be drooling in their pants. Offer them an organic equivalent and the safety nazis crawl out of the woodwork like termites in a forest fire...

Rolling Eyes

If they trust it to stop a sword, it's a fair assumption that bouncing down the road isn't going to worry it too much...

I don't get what bamboo expanding in the wet has to do with japanese finger torture, it was used because it was sharp and curved and slid nicely under the fingernail....

Either way the helmet looks daft, and think of the Pandas... Karma

Surely using bamboo is better for the environment when you crash in it and want to dispose of it.
