Hey

I'm Lactose intollerant - I.e no milk, cheese etc.

Recently I've had a touch of eczema, nothing unusual, suffered as a kid. Usually would happen if i have too much lactose, overdo it on choc etc.

Problem being the bastard stuff won't go. Tried HC45 Sudocrem etc, just won't go.

Anyone know any effective solutions?

go to your doctors and they can prescribe some better creams or ointments, i find the e45 and hydrocortison creams are crap. Best i've used in the past is elocon which is steroid based cleared up my eczema in a couple of days.

I use some becitied (spelling) Betnovate lotion and liquid for my exczma as I get it real bad on my head, armpits and ears. with mild on my legs and arms.

I know it's not the case for everyone but I get it from washing powder. Try using the sensitive stuff, it may help.

If its only a touch of eczema try 1% hydrocortisone cream, available from chemists....it might not be on the shelves, but just ask the assistants. Around the £2 mark.

I dont find E45 any help at all.

Switch wash powders to non-biological types....like Fairy, Persil Non Bio.

I dont have ezema but I get dry skin but the stuff I use from the doctor is for ezema its called Eucerin, it worked for me and E45 never worked so maybe give it a try and see?? Just a suggestion. My friend is lactose intolerant and has ezema and has tried everything even those Chinese exspensve treatments but hasnt tried Eucerin.

There is no "magic" treatment that will make symptoms of eczema go away immediately (although I have "found" something from Japan that is pretty close...).

Forget E45, but get some Aqeuous (sp) cream, and just keep your skin generally moisturised - avoid things that you know will irritate the eczema, and just keep that up. If you *do* want something stronger, then your GP should be able to prescribe with a steroid in it, such as Betnovate, or Fucibet etc, but this is something to use only in short periods at a time.

I have extremely bad eczema on my hands i actually made the doctor go speechless and say 'bloody hell' and yes i was like 'shit im never going to get rid of this but i researched online and found this cream and it has done wonders (i am at work at the moment so will get the name of it later and let you know ). My advice is dont do washing, dont pick and dont use what the doctors give you it doesnt work

I'm on an anti candida diet now.

3 months without yeast + sugar etc.

No beer or alcohol, bread, hidden sugars, for 3 months.

No fruit for 1st month. No fruit juices full stop. No crisps, food with MSG etc.

No fizzy drinks.

Bit screwed, like. Boring as hell and a fair amount of pills etc to take.

Not enjoying it. Might lose some weight, ey.

That isn't nice, have you found anything you can eat apart from brown rice and horrible bland things?
At least at the end of it you will fingers crossed have lost the eczema, and possibly apprieciate the food you are then allowed to eat... and on a plus side, you are going to be such a lightweight from not drinking alcohol that getting drunk will become cheap once again!

Stuff called Protopic has pretty much eliminated all my eczema, but obviously stuff that might work for me may not work for you.

When you first start using it it itches like mad for a few days but once you get over that hurdle you really start to see the difference. I very rarely have flare ups any more.

Just look it up on google, you never know it might work for you.

I used to use emulsifying cream. Don't ask me what it did. My mum gave it to me and I put it on. I was like 10.
It did seem to help though so all's good.
I always get it in summer behind my knees due to sweat. It's awful and I know what you're going through.
As someone has already said, just visit your GP and see what they say.

if they have put you on an anti-candida diet, maybe they should put you on some sort of anti funghal pills to get rid of any candida that you may have
