The bike will be a bit faster than an rs 125... Thumbs Up
Take the restrictions off, keep it restricted in the papers. That's what I'm gonna do when I get mine

Seen as though your obviously under 21....you do know your gonna get bum raped on insurance Wink

Don't sports inline 4's make all their torque up the top end of the rev range? I doubt it will be much quicker than a restricted bandit 6. Obviously handle better.

A restricted 6RR will probably see you to a fairly reasonable top speed...not sure what. The restriction is done by a computer so you'll need to get your old one back and plug that back in.

I wouldn't reccommend it though...for one, it'll still be quick enough to scare the shit out of you initially. And also IF for whatever reason you have a crash, the insurance company do some poking about and find it's not restricted, well, you'll get violated...hard.

If it's your first bike keep it restricted for a bit then when you feel ready remove them, but it is your license you'll be gambling with.

I don't imagine it would take the restriction particularly well, but it can't be as bas as some bikes.

i think thats going to be an incredibly boring bike when restricted.
The restriction will effect the top end speed and the acceleration - everything really! If the power is down, the torque will be down.

It will be very similar to a 125 yes, an aprilia rs125 makes around 28-30bhp and your cbr will make 33bhp but be heavier.

If someone offered me a 33bhp RR or a full-power RS, I'd take the RS.

revvy race-oriented IL4s do not like being restricted at all. The dry weight of the bike is 165kg, and that's before you put fuel, oil, water and a rider on top.

Chances are you'll run out of steam before you get to 60.

The best bikes to restrict are the v-twins, because they produce all their torque at the bottom of the rev range.

Something like an SV650.

God knows it'll be cheaper to insure.

just an update because there are lots of views on the restrictors, the bike is fine no problems power is there, really fast all it has done is restrict the top end, bike now does 120 which is more than enough for the time being Smile

Roflecopter! I think the whole point of having a 33bhp power output is that it is the suitable criteria for which a 100mph realistic top speed fulfills! It's roughly a given assumption negating aerodynamic effects. So either in the process you were going down hill or getting a tail wind, i smell man scrotum here!

Sammyboy (Reevo8) had his bike restricted and it topped out at 95mph! that was a 2004 CBR600RR If i remember correctly. You would seem to be talking out of your arse, since 120mph would require 50-60bhp.

hmm, nothing like running the bike in nicely if you have already tried to max it out.

My hornet 250 has seen 100mph with a pillion and it is restricted (got a dyno reading showing 28.8bhp). Inline 4, redlining at 16,000 rmp. Its the nuts!

Glad you like your bike mate, enjoy it!

It's not the same engine, the hornet is a pre-fx CBR600F engine.

im sorry but i do think 120 mph would be possible on a 33 bhp 600 as on my r6 ive had 112 mph but ran out of road, uvd need a big road but it will be possile. once you get to 100 mph it does slow right down but i can get 90 mph in second which gets to that speed no problem although it isnt as fast as it would be when unrestricted
