Hubby just got a letter from the AA, (that's Automobile Association and not the other one) offering him a deal on breakdown cover. Hubby is registered as blind. Now, you might think it's just one of those junk mail mistakes but on the back of the envelope it says that "This information is available in large print, braille or audio." One wonders at why there are so many accidents out there. This could be one of the reasons why.

On the other hand, with the AA, it's the person who's covered, not only a specific vehicle. So, he'd be covered each time a mate gives him a lift anywhere.

I've looked at the letter a bit more closely. £39 is the basic cover, for a vehicle. It's more than that for a named person to be covered.
But truthfully, is it likely that a blind person would want to take out a personal breakdown cover?

Or common sense? Even if the letter might not mean much to them, you can't restrict someone's chance to "read" a letter because of a disability. Confused

And like other people said, you can still have breakdown cover to cover you in any car you are in.

How do they read that its available in braille then?

And how do they get the number?

They would probably get a carer or someone to check to see if it is available in braille, although if that is the case, the person could just read it out for them.

Generally more important to have a braille version if they need to keep a copy for future reference, although in this case I do understand that is not relavant.

Now stop trying to be a smart arse. Wink

39 quid for a years breakdown anywhere insurance cover?
Bite their hand off.

You would pay that for a taxi off a motorway.

It is good value I have had the Miss Fortune to have to use my M/cycle cover twice. Or you can pay 100 pounds for a pikey truk. Smile

Throw in a litre of scrumpy and it's a deal.
