I did a search thinking that hood jeans had kevlar the whole way down but apparently they dont anymore

Can anyone enlighten me?

Think maybe hood jeans do do one set of jeans with them?
I've crashed in a set of hood jeans on shell grip and was fine but then crashed a few before in normal jeans and it didn't go through them either (but did leave me a bit of road rash on my knee).

Got some Draggin jeans and they only have kevlar on the impact zones. They would be heavy bulky buggers if it was all over.

I bought some last summer.

The Kevlar (but Hood Jeans call it Aramid) runs from the waist band all around the jeans down to about 4 inches below the knee all around the leg.

I think they are bulkier than Draggin Jeans.

This was the cheapest jeans that they make.

It was a good service. Mine came about 5 days after I ordered them.

I have voto (cheaper ebay ones) and they are fine. Impact areas have padding n that and the whole denim is like double stitched and has this kind of anti abrasive layer in betwen the denim then the silk breathy stuff like you get inside leathers. Crashed in them twice, (once me once off the back a friend) and they stood up fine at ~40. above that I wouldnt expect them to last long, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Interestingly I also crashed in normal jeans G, but mine wore all the way through and ripped up my thigh, as well as wearing down my phone in the pocket.

I'm wearing my draggin jeans right now as it happens . They have the kevlar stuff all around my arse, thighs and knees. Not tested them yet thankfully, but I have confidence that they won't wear through. I have crashed in normal jeans and they tore straight through and then into my knee. Took a while to heal, that did .

I have two pairs of Draggin Jeans,

Have "tested" them a few times, did their job each time, highly reccomended

Hood make two types (well more than two, but two different styles as far as the kevlar goes).

One (the K7 and others) has woven Aramid all around from waist band to below knees. Not got any of those but looks like it could get very hot if not moving very fast.

The other (Concept 6) has softer (but allegedly just as tough in a crash) and more breathable knitted Aramid on impact zones only (so your family jewels get a bit more air! )
I have these and they are comfortable. Knee armour has pockets of a sort in that they go between the denim and the Aramid. Also have velcro strips sewn in to hold hip armour.
Haven't tested them in a crash (and don't plan to ) so can't report on that, but otherwise I'd reccomend them highly.

Have not tried Draggin jeans.

Both Hood and Draggin jeans aer very similar in construction. I've got Draggin, simply because I preferred the style and colour of the denim on them.

I use them a lot in the summer, and while not QUITE as comfortable as regular jeans for walking about in when it's hot, they are certainly more practical than carrying about leathers, or finding somewhere to stash them.

They come with the option of armour, but in practice, it's impractical to try and use the armour purely from a comfort standpoint.

I used mine while touring and holidaying in France in '06, and they were fine and comfy, but I'd not generally use them for anything but shorter journeys down to the lack of armour.

Just an extra note to say that I find no problem walking around all day in my Hood's (Concept 6) with the knee and hip armour in them.
