Hi,

Not seen many threads on here about immobilisers, I'm just wondering if anyone knows how effective they are as a deterrent? Would they put most theives off?

Surely a loud alarm would be more of a deterant to casuals, but as Mick says if a pro wants your bike they'll have it.

Well I've got HISS, Datatool Alarm, Datatool Immobiliser, Smartwater, Datatag, Chained to the frame of another bike.

I doubt bikes with immobilisers are worth much as they won't be able to sell a lot of the parts?

Not really. If it's got HISS then it's only likely to be the ECU. If it's a datatool or other then only the loom will be affected and they are hardly the biggest seller I'd have thought.

i dunno, got hiss2 on my bike, it lowers the premium but if someone's determind to have your bike i dont think it'd do a lot
