Remember me? Im the one who hit a deer on my NSR125K doing 80mph just over 2 years ago (on my 23rd birthday)

Well after recovering from such a crash I gave up bikes for good........... well so i thought!

Iv just brought a 2001 CG125 with just over 4000 miles on the clock for £525 taxed and mot'ed for a year!

I pick up the bike next friday and i cant wait.

The only thing im scared of is the drum front brake!!!! Iv never had a bike with drum brakes before.

Would it be safer to put your feet down and hope for the best? hahaha its good to be back

I have a back drum and it's fine. If you're not confident with how they'll perform just keep your distance until you know stopping distances.

That sounds like an excellent price. Welcome back to the biking world.

thanks guys cant wait to get back on the open road!Im sure its going to be a lot different riding a CG then a NSR.

The main reason i got my CG was for the 100+MPG!I loved my NSR but i bearly got 40MPG and that was if i took it easy. I remember once when i done a ride out to the north of london from brighton it cost me like £25-£30 to travel 180mile round trip.

Been told if i fill the tank up on my CG(£14) i should see about 250-300miles i hope this is ture

Not sure the CG tank is big enough to get £14 of fuel in, but 100MPG is definitely obtainable. I used to rag the arse off my XR125 and still got ~90MPG!

I used to full throttle my CG everywhere off the line, sticking to speed limits of course...
and i got 250 miles to a full tank
which was about 11 quid

that isnt including using the reserve

I suppose if you used all the reserve and had to free-wheel onto the petrol station forecourt then you would squeeze it in then Wink .

yeah i dont like front drumb brakes either

best bet is to allow a big gap between you and the vehicle in front and always remember that you wont be able to stop in a hurry, so ride with that in mind

yeah im going to, but the top speed of my CG is 50-60 so the brakes dont have to put up with much! plus im buying top of the range brake pads of it.

Im going to keep this CG for 6months sell it and get a CBR125 anyways! I saw a CBR125 '05 model go for £1050 on ebay with only 4000miles on the clock!!!
