I really love bike rallies but I can’t say I love tents that much. I’m fine sleeping in, or even ‘entertaining company’ in a tent but I hate having to go through all the messing about of putting the damn thing up when I arrive and taking it down at the end of the event.

When I arrive at a rally (sometimes wet and usually cold) the last thing I want to do is crawl around on the grass putting a damn tent together. Then when it’s time to leave after a fabulous weekend I once again have to crawl around (this time with a hangover that would kill a horse) pulling down the tent, getting rid of the creepy-crawlies, then trying to get the whole thing back into a bag that is a quarter of the size of the tent.

If you share my dislike of these aspects of camping there is some good news from the You’ve Been Nabbed rally (May 9th – 11th).

You can arrange to have a lovely 4-person tent (two double sleeping compartments in each) complete with air-beds or self inflating mats already waiting for you when you arrive, and when you’re ready to leave on Sunday after enjoying the best rally you’ve ever been to, you can just ride away without giving the tent a second thought.

A company called Carry-Nowt-Camping have agreed to offer their services at the You’ve Been Nabbed rally for anybody who wants it. The really surprising thing is that the hire of a 4-person tent complete with airbeds will cost you just £30.00 (plus a £20.00 refundable damage deposit).

With four people sharing that’s only £7.50 each.

Less luggage to carry on your bike or trike, no crawling around trying to get a bent tent-peg through a stone underground, no smell of mold because you didn’t air your tent after the last event. You just turn up and a member of the Carry-Nowt-Camping staff will lead you to your ready erected, nice clean comfortable tent.

What a fantastic idea! And the added bonus is that Carry-Nowt-Camping will be making a donation to the NABD based on the business they do at the event.

Check them out on www.carrynowtcamping.co.uk then contact them on 0776 027 9905 or e-mail ridefree@carrynowtcamping.co.uk But do it quick because I suspect they will be in great demand at this event.

Fucking genius that is, perfect for when you just can't be arsed. Thumbs Up

Unfortunately 'You've been Nabd' is out for us this year..... Got the holidays in for the late one at Cornbury though, might have a go there given a chance.

Regarding this event....I would like to pop along this year, but can't make the whole event. Does anyone know if you can bob in for a day, or maybe camp one night? There is no info on the website about this and as I've not been before I don't know.

Chelford is only a stones throw away so would be a shame to not wander along this year.

Day tickets are available at the gate. Basically you pay the full ticket price and get a partial refund on your way out, as long as you leave before 7:30 (I think, you'll have to check at the gate or ring the NABD office)
