Whats going on in this auction. I was looking for a fairing for one of my projects and I noticed this. This one.
Its broken and to me its way over priced. Why are people bidding on it? Is it that rare?

Considering who's selling it, I would look elsewhere for one.......

£175 with a scuff and broken headlight mount bit? Sheer crazy-ness. Shocked And yeah, probably is someone who knows the seller.

Ah, yes. Steer clear my friend. I have heard bad things about DK spares, too.

DK are indeed a bunch of crooks and, no doubt like most thing's, that's getting bid up. The number of items I bid on that already have a bid in place from just after the auction started. Then when you bid you realise it's a very high initial bid so I just don't bother going any further and let them win it, then less than 24hours later I get a 2nd chance offer, no thanks cheating scumbags.

I've got a mint blue 2005 R6 nose fairing if that's any good, wouldn't exepct £175 for it but will happily take that Wink

Maybe it's because it's a Mk1 fairing?

Depends how much they are new I suppose, but that does seem a little steep.

Looking at this link and this link It seems to be the Mk1 fairings that are really really expensive, fairings for the fuel injected bikes are about a third of the price. A full panel set is on ebay for £300, so why not just change the lot!?

I asked DK for a price on a lockset for the NSR and they came back with. We can only do the ignition and filler cap with different key's for £35 + VAT Each. Shocked

So I went and bought a new pattern set of fleabay instead. Thumbs Up

Brand new they are £350 from a yamaha supplier. I've been after one for a while, mainly watching fleabay for them and this does seem to be the going rate for them. I've seen them with a lot more damage going for over £200 quite a few times.

Seems to just be a thing with old R6 parts, still extortionate prices when brand new so everyone fights for second hand ones.

Says it all. I hope you find what you need without having to resort to them. And as most people know about them, how do they stay in business? Surely 'new bikers' wouldn't keep them afloat, are there enough?

To be fair, their ebay feedback is reasonable considering the sort of thing they are selling is likely to have a lot of variations in styles etc - which could result in a bad buying experience.

Does that say much about DK or just some of the donkeys that use ebay?
