I've heard that you can transfer ncb from a bike to a car for a small fee sometimes. I wouldnt mind doing this as 1 ncb on a car saves u more than 1 ncb on a bike. (or it did for me anyway) the question is, who is it that decides if you can transfer? Is it your car insurer? Or your bike insurer?Maybe both?Or maybe neither.much appreciated if someone can shed light on the subject.

Ditto, would like to know more about this, i.e. which insurers do it etc. I have 4 years protected NCB on my car, would be rather nice if I could transfer this to the bike as well Thumbs Up

It depends on the car insurer.

Ones I've used are ecarinsurance and Tescos.

I expect they will both do it from car to bike as well, but haven't checked up on that.

Never heard of them asking a fee to do this.

If Tesco do it, then so will Direct Line, Churchill and Privilege. Thumbs Up

Havent heard of it myself, but looks plausible.

I transferred my 3 years bike NCB to a car policy with Churchill a few weeks back. Paying 650 quid for my 1.6 Golf with fuck all experience aged 20, so it's well worth doing.

if only i could find a company to mirror my car NCB to the bike, hmm 9yrs NCB for a bike, cheap as chips insurance then.

not thats £128 F/C is expensive but it would open doors to more expensive bikes.

You can only use your no-claims for one policy, regardless of bike, commercial or car. Ie. you can't unless you end your car policy and transfer them over. You can't use them for something else at the same time.
