My sad sad story about Larry :'(

Ages ago i got a newt called it Larry he didn't eat because he was lonely (hence the name Larry) and he became all anorexic so i thought i would get him a friend.
Enter Barry. When i got Barry i also got 3 goldfish (Jezebel, Stacey and Brenda) and a sucker fish (Bruiser). Larry was happier with his new tank mates.
Barry is a greedy newt and never let Larry eat the worms, so Larry would have to dig in the pebbles for the left over worms.
As Barry grew and grew he became more and more greedy so he decided to taste Stacey, so Stacey was swimming around the tank with a big lump out of her tail and of course lost all of her balance and died. Meanwhile Barry liked the taste of goldfish and ate the other two, while Larry still limited to finding left over worms in the pebbles.
Bruiser was a big sucker fish, bigger than Barry but he was so upset that his gold friends had gone that he just lost all will to live and let Barry eat him.
So that is Jezebel, Stacey, Brenda and Bruiser all munched up and flushed down the toilet.
Last night Larry got caught up in the reeds and died, Barry was upset but was a little curious as to what newt would taste like, so he had a little nibble of Larry's leg and decided he liked it so had a few more nibbles from his tail, so when i went to feed my newts this morning there was a half nibbled Larry mangled up in the reeds and a rather full Barry.
I don't think i will be getting Barry another tank mate in fear of it getting eaten.

I had a weather loach called Larry.

It jumped from the tank into a bowl of boiling washing up water and lived to tell the tale.

Feck me was he a double-hard bastard.

I miss him now. <sniff> Thanks for bringing back the pain.

I had a blue lobster (crayfish) that escaped from his tank, using his claws he climbed the air pipe, and fell about 5 foot to freedom, I spent ages looking for the little sod and eventually found him under a pair of boxers in my bedroom.

Completely dry but still game for a laugh, a laugh that involved pinching me, I got him back in the tank and over the next two weeks watched him eating some fish, bloody expensive fish I might add, so i took him back to the shop and asked if the bloke would have him back.

Ended up giving me a flag tailed catfish in his place, I call him shearer cos of his black and white stripes. Much more friendly.


The lobster was also called larry.

I'm crap with fish, I bought my first ever goldfish, 2 of em and one died within a week.

Poor old Sushi, miss you mate.

Bait looked like he was on his last legs the other day as well. Got a filter and do regular water changes and gravel cleaning and they just keep getting ill.

owns a marine and tropical fish shop and yesterday i hand fed casper the friendly shrimp, its well weird, as soon as you put your hand in the tank he swims up and hangs off it and chomps on the little pellet of food, my mate asked me if i wanted to hand feed one of the lion fish and i told him to fuck off

Being somewhat of a fan of newts and other assorted herptiles...

What the devil have you been smoking?

Have you actually just chucked a newt in with your fish in the aquarium? What species? Age? I've never heard of a newt actually managing to take a bite out of something, owing to their lack of teeth (well they have pseudo-teeth, but certainly Jaws they aint) and tiny mouths.

Only thing i can think you mean is MAYBE an Axolotl, but even then they're savage but again lack teeth (neotonous form of a normal terrestrial salamander, tiger i think)

I am not even kidding i when i got the fish i asked the guy at the aquarium place and he was like 'the newt will stick to its own kinda thing, but the only problem is that the fish will eat all of the blood worms that u feed to the newt'. So i got 2 tank just incase that did happen but a week later im not even exaggerating there was a chunk missing out of one of my goldfishes tail.

I feed Barry about 2 cubes of frozen blood worms evey other day and he just takes a huge bite and all of it is gone.

He is not an Axolotl (although i did want one of those) i have no idea what he is but he is getting pretty big.

I keep him in a cold water tank with just a air filter in and he seems happy...a tad loney at the moment but happy.

I will try and get some pictures of him, i would love to find out what he actually is.
