I quite fancy the idea of flying a wing suit, but I don't have any skydiving experience at all. I have some flying experience (paragliding and paramotoring), but I don't know if this is of any relevence. bird-man.com seems to recommend 200 to 500 solo jumps before training with a wing suit. How much would it cost starting ab-initio to complete 200 jumps, including certification etc? How long would it take to complete this, taking British weather into account?

I used to average about 7 to 8 decents a weekend maybe more if I bailed after taking up first timers for there first Static Line decents
So to get 200 decents in would take an average 30 plus weekends but I would think probably closer to about 3 or 4 years of weekends allowing for weather conditions.

Good luck if you go for it and play safe

Thanks for the information. Sounds like a non starter for me then Sad . Those wing suits do look super cool, but it is probably a bit too late for me to get started.

was this at the school in Blackpool?, I'm currently considering maybe a AFF course this summer , considering that I can't squeeze in the originally intended 3 tours this year without rushing one of them which is bad in touring , and blackpool is close by!.

I think monkey-pie is an instructor in skydiving, maybe she could give you the advice you need.

Haha - just an FS coach I am affraid and that rating has elapsed!!Not jumped in a few years now.

It took me best part of 4 years to get 700 odd jumps. This was jumping most wekeends (inc videoing tandems/4 way teams/coaching) and a yearly trip to the states!

It' very expensive in the UK. Never did Birdman. I would not have been confident ehough at 200 jumps, was still a mear sky-pup.

Yes I agree - nerves keep you safe.
