With the sun now making brief outings and lower than ever what are people opinions; dark tinted visors or sunglasses?

Black visor all the way. No faffing with glasses then. Plus they look cool and you can blatantly eye up the girlies.

i have a tinted visor

I found sun glasses uncomfortable and probably dangerous in a crash.

Used to do sunglasses but the visor is the best way.

And I'm with Joe, you can stare at any thing and go unnoticed. Mr. Green

Think of the glasses impaling your eyes should the worst happen.

I have been using my sunglasses for a while, but today I decided a tinted visor would be a lot better. Might have to look into getting one. They would seem a lot more comfortable.

Oh think of the glasses one is legally required to wear to read a number plate at the legal distance INJURING YOU IN AN ACCIDENT. Shocked

"If you can only read a number plate using glasses/corrective lenses for the eyesight test, the law requires you wear them whenever you are driving and throughout your test. You are not allowed to remove your glasses/corrective lenses when carrying out test manoeuvres (reversing etc)."

What a load of Kiegh.
If you wear a full face helmet the chance of the glasses injuring you would be no more significant than whatever managed to enter that space inside the helmet.

Possibly the worst helmet ever made. They creak when you move your head.

It's a nightmare entering tunnels or heavy shade with sunglasses on. It's a lot easier to flip up a visor in these circumstances....

Mine doesn't. Neutral

Did have a flip down front one, which did creak....

I tend to go for dark visors as I wear glasses anyway. To be honest its very unlikely that glasses could impale your face/eyes as once you have the visor down the glasses have about an inch of movement before they touch the visor... so i dont see how the glasses can move off your face (the arms are around 4 inchs long...) only to move back and stab you? Also if your lid fits well the glasses should be held firmly in place and not move around anyway. If your visor is up when you crash then if the force was hard enough the glasses would likely fly off your face anyway (as was the case when i was hit by a van last year) The only reason against a dark visor and why sometimes i wish i had a pair of prescription sunglasses is that you need to carry clear with you if your planning to stay out till it gets dark. Stiffler got caught out last saturday when we headed over to hawes route. Riding motorway isnt fun with your visor up.

Who told you that crap? Have you ever seen the damage caused by either sunglasses or prescription glasses regardless of the type of helmet worn?

It is a well know fact within the road accident investigation business that any type of spectacle severely increases the chances of being badly injured, being left blind and in a lot of cases brain injured where the arm of the spectacles has been rammed into the brain either through one of the facial orifices.
